If you want the most hopeful message you will see today, watch this video.
Why I Think This World Should End
Scanning replies intrigues me. On my Sunday early A.M. to do list. Thanks for the ping.
“Also, its bad form to speak as if you know exactly what Jesus agrees with or disagrees with, unless you can quote chapter and verse. Otherwise, it sounds sacrilegious, as if youre saying Jesus personally related it to you over fish tacos and Budweiser.”
Perfect response to libs who suddenly conveniently believe in Jesus so they can tell you how you aren’t following Him the way they think you should lol.
PING!
He omitted, “Stupid people are breeding”.
It’s a shame, really. Stupid people won’t ‘get’ the video.
Thus, it’s up to ‘not-stupid’ people to do something...
...and we’re right back where we started: The human race...the first species on earth to bypass natural selection. It will be our undoing.
It’s happening...
“Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded- here and there, now and then- are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as ‘bad luck.’”
— Robert A. Heinlein
Bingo!
Like it Laz,,
and I’d like to bye the World a Coke,
but not everyone would take it.
goodnight Laz
Thanks for the ping!
I'll admit to being a lousy Christian. As much as I try, I do a really lousy job loving my fellow man, and an especially lousy job loving my enemies.
Jesus was speaking a fundamental, and deep truth when he said that the greatest of all the comandments was to love God with all your heart, mind and strength, and to love your neighbor as you love yourself. It is a transformative truth that is the elemental building block of all the other Laws of God.
It's hard to put into practice though.
I normally don't watch commercials much because there are only 2 shows on TV that I actually follow these days, and we PVR them then skip the ADs. However, just by chance tonight I saw this. It's not on point to the message discussed above, but I really liked it.
You don’t care for “mild objectivity?”
Actually, the love of money is the root of all SORTS of evil...
I think ones takeaway reveals something of ones mindset and priority ordering. The first two lines of "Dylan's Political World
We live in a political world
Love dont have any place
One comment I saw referring to Lucifer got me to thinking about that highest archangel who was cast out for making a rebellion against God. Lucifer was the first "individualist." ( I will...). Even after he was cast down and condemned, he did not repent, but planted his seed into the First Parents' mind by appealing to pride and vanity as being better than obedience and humility.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Politics can do nothing to fix this heart and mind problem. While it can aim to restrain evil, the very attempts at that restraint must involve coercion. And coercion, outside of the restraining of the virtues results in rule by brute force. "Love don't have any place."
Politics eats up love.
Satan is subtle and the he knows how to pick us off, one by one. His exploitation of pride and vanity works, and he has no reason to abandon that tactic. But, it's an "us" problem, not a "them" problem. We are lost as individuals. We are saved in community. This is the good aspect of the concept of collectivism.
"If only it were all so simple! If only there were evil people somewhere insidiously committing evil deeds, and it were necessary only to separate them from the rest of us and destroy them. But the line dividing good and evil cuts through the heart of every human being. And who is willing to destroy a piece of his own heart? ― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago 1918-1956
Thank you for your wise perspective. I feel that love conquers evil. You must oppose evil, but in the end, God (who is Love) and Jesus (who is Love) conquers evil for us.
Objective defined not as the usual “impartial” but something I objected to.
Thanks zeugma!
That you take the time to answer each ping.
Thou Art Sweet.
I can try to be good in my own doings and to treat others the way I should, but the effects will not end up fixing the tortured mess of the world.
it's still nice to hear a message inspired by a recognition of the evils and a hope for better.
DEVO was right.
