The first manned missions to Earth's satellite began in 1969 with Apollo 11. Just a few years later, conspiracies sprouted up claiming that potentially each of the six lunar landing crews and every one of the 12 Apollo astronauts who walked on the moon had in fact participated in an elaborate ruse. To the conspiracists, it may never have happened -- or didn't happen like NASA said it did -- and oh by the way, we duped the Russians into losing the space race.
Voxel global illumination, however, proves them wrong, says Nvidia. The technique, which the new GTX 970 and 980 can tap into, lets developers use dynamic lighting that will bounce, diffuse and reflect in real-time with unprecedented fidelity when new objects are added to a scene. Nvidia's GPUs are enhanced chips that allow graphics cards to more effectively and efficiently take data from a central processing unit, or CPU, and turn it into moving images on a display. In other words, voxel global illumination is the perfect rendering tool to tackle moon landing hoaxes that often use as evidence for their claims lighting discrepancies with NASA photography.

Thank you for posting this study that disproves the “moon landing was hoax theories.”
Conspiracy nuts are just that but the ‘moon landing hoax army’ are an especially irritating lot.
Can’t they see with telescopes stuff left on the moon?
The moon landing “hoax” sinks under the weight of sanity.
The idea that the many people involved could be kept silent is ludicrous. Its kinda like the foolishness of the people who see bones, animals and buildings all over mars. Simple logic destroys those fantasies. The Space agency that is constantly scrambling for money would not be hiding the things that would inevitably lead to a 100fold increase in their funding.
Do any of the hoax-believers even realize just how loudly the Soviets would have been screaming “HOAX!!!!” if that’s what it was!!?
Russian astronomers & satellite info instead told the Politburo the bad news that the Americans had beaten them in the race to the moon, and that U.S. astronauts had “boots on the ground” on the lunar surface.
Honestly, what some people will insist on believing in.

But, what about the Moon Landing Hoax Hoaxes?
The tracks made by the lunar rover are visible with a powerful enough telescope, plus they left laser reflectors behind as well.
Yes, and I am still eating the cheese...
Nvidia is part of the conspiracy?
The surface of the moon there is so reflective it looks like snow.
Can you imagine what an eerie, dreamy landscape that must’ve looked with the black sky and the barren snowy looking surface of the moon.
Moon Landing Hoax Hoaxes are for real.
Not with a telescope. Is simply beyond the capability of any telescope built when you look at the resolution and magnification possible. Not really even close. The only view of the left behind things was done from a spacecraft. Those pics came out a year or two ago. And of course, if you don’t believe in the moon landing, you won’t believe a spacecraft sent to photograph the moon either.
I think the moon landing deniers just have a problem with anything as cool as men on the moon because it happened when they were not part of the world that witnessed it.
“Russian astronomers & satellite info instead told the Politburo the bad news”
More to the point, Russian mil voice, data, and image intercepts told them the bad news. Russian ELINT ships and subs were there when they went up and when they came down. Recorded, tracked, translated, and analyzed every step of the way. There was no doubt.
Russian satellites looked down, not up. No one in the Politburo cared what some astronomers claimed.
However, Russia could have easily duplicated the feat, but did not for other classified reasons.
