you really wonder just how screwed up this world can get.
LOL!
Oh, that’s funny; those little candies you mean?
....Or the whole bottle.
yes--the red, jelly cinnamon candies... it is something i grew up with... my older sisters do it too...
Hahaha.... never would have thought of that in a million years. I will try it! Thanks!
...Don’t ask a question to which you don’t want the answer...
(h/t Dad, RIP)
Been there, don’t let it get to you like i let it get to me.
It can and will get much, much worse.
The political issues are just a sideshow. We are too dependent on a pervasive but fragmented, fragile, insecure, vulnerable, indefensive infrastructure and becoming more so every day.
Worlds has always been screwed...the US now is just following...
The way my Italian (Sicilian) grandpa taught me when I was 5 is: use a flat-bottomed wok-type pan with a tight cover (he actually had a popcorn popper), put in just enough oil to seat, but not cover, a layer of popcorn, heat to medium. While it’s heating, place 5 fat kernels in.
When the last of the 5 kernels pop, (oil is ready), put one layer in the pan, crowded together but not on top of each other. Shake to level kernels. Start quaking the pan on the burner when they start to pop, don’t stop until the popping stops, then wait for the last five kernels to pop, still quaking. 100% popped popcorn, remove from fire.
You can drizzle ice-cream caramel topping and fresh ground sea salt, or a pack of the powdered cheese from a box of mac&cheese, or garlic salt and parmesan, or just butter and salt.
hang in there, CC. Good homepage. Quiet Man is a great movie...one of the very few Mr Zin will watch over and over. And was just on the other day. Again...hang in there. We are all in this together. Make some popcorn. :)
‘Bugs Flying Around With Wings Are Flying Bugs’
‘Deadbeat Dad Beat Dead’
i use a heavy pan... i do use medium heat... i cover the kernels in the pan with a lid, but leave it a little off so there is a slight opening... i do not shake the pan... just leave it be... and i let them pop, pop, pop... after that is done, i pour the popcorn into a brown paper grocery bag... i toss in the sea salt and pour in the butter... i shake the bag and let it all coat the popcorn... then i pour it all into a big bowl...
Does anyone still eat Jiffypop?

i introduced it to my sons a few years ago... and i think their grandmother gave them some in a Christmas stocking once... and we have taken it with us on camping trips in the past... they still sell it, so i guess the answer is yes!
Thanks guys (and gals)Just an extra crappy day today as opposed to the medium crappy days I’ve been having. Guess I’m going car shopping on monday!
CC
I always had better luck with extra-fat yellow kernels than those petite white kernels.
Right now my popcorn is waiting for what happens with McDaniel in Mississippi. There is back and forth arguments until Sept 26, when the Mississippi Supreme Court will issue whether to overturn that lower scumbad judge who pulled that McDaniel waited a day or two too long to file his arguments.
