Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told a conference room of international feminists and abortion advocates that the US is a long way from ratifying the UN treaty on discrimination against women, “not for lack of trying, but for absence of support.”
Clinton was the final speaker last Friday at a two-day feminist conference called “Women and Girls Rising” at the Ford Foundation in New York., which began with remarks by Gloria Steinem and was organized by the author of a glowing biography of Margaret Sanger. Former Clinton administration chief of staff John Podesta also expressed embarrassment over the non-ratification of CEDAW, adding that many “think that the United States can’t ratify anything these days.”

More specifically, Jefferson and the Court had clarified that the federal government cannot use its power to negotiate treaties as a back door to forcing US citizens to comply with federal laws which are based on powers or rights which the states have never delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to regulate. “Surely the President and Senate cannot do by treaty what the whole government is interdicted from doing in any way.” — Thomas Jefferson: Parliamentary Manual, 1812 .
“2. Insofar as Art. 2(11) of the Uniform Code of Military Justice provides for the military trial of civilian dependents accompanying the armed forces in foreign countries, it cannot be sustained as legislation which is “necessary and proper” to carry out obligations of the United States under international agreements made with those countries, since no agreement with a foreign nation can confer on Congress or any other branch of the Government power which is free from the restraints of the Constitution [emphasis added].” — Reid v. Covert, 1956 .
So in order for Clinton to win votes from women for the Democrats by legally using the UN as a back door to promote abortion rights, Clinton must do the following. Clinton must first encourage Congress to propose an abortion rights amendment to the Constitution to the states for ratification. And if the states choose to ratify Clinton's amendment then the federal government will have the constitutional authority that it needs to negotiate abortion rights through treaties and Clinton will be a hero.
She helped create this embarrassment.
The fact that she is not on death row for all the deaths she is responsible for over all these years, embarrasses me.
