Dr. Jane Orient, Executive Director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, reported that the government has been “real tight-lipped” about the mysterious respiratory illness that has struck children in the United States, expressed concern that the illegal immigrant minors from Central America could be the source, and argued that the government should devote more resources to border security to combat the spread of disease on Wednesday’s “Laura Ingraham Show.”

From analyzing news stories, it was first dropped in California (enterovirus-68 also associated with polio-like symptoms in several countries in the past), then Denver, Kansas City and eventually spread more in the southeast. Looks like the result of a quick trip on I-70 through K.C. then to the southeast for some wandering around.

They will remain "tight-lipped" until they can find a way to blame this on "the previous administration."

I'm confident there is a team somewhere - like in the basement of the Executive Office Building - combing over the records of the Bush administration, looking for any tiny pretext for such a blame-shift.

This really scares the hell out of me. I have been sick ALL SUMMER with a respiratory ‘something’ I have never had to deal with before. I’m just now trying to get my voice back and still have a hacking, gag-inducing cough.

My eldest son is asthmatic and I’m very worried......not to mention my elderly parents I’m taking care of.

My very healthy, 17 year old, high school soccer playing son, brought “it” home. He went from healthy, playing in a HS game, to complaining of a bad headache, to a high fever and quick heavy congestion. He actually missed school and (along w/others on squad) too winded to practice for a few days.

Then I got it. Same on set of symptoms, but unlike the teen, I’m not shaking it. Can’t lose the cough (I do have asthma but this is making it out of control). Was at the dentist office yesterday, his whole staff, masked even when NOT doing pts...everyone there sick.

My thoughts exactly. When does it reach the point of rebel before you die?
