Minnesota drivers will face a 1-in-88 chance of hitting a deer on the state’s highways this year, according to a report released Monday by the nation’s largest auto insurance company.

State Farm’s annual report estimates that Minnesota drivers will collide with 37,549 deer in 2014.

Minnesota drivers have the 8th highest odds of hitting a deer among the 50 states, according to the report, down from 6th highest in last year’s report.

Zekey I *post-it bombed* my first note this afternoon in my market. Did it right in front of the meat manager who was distracted/talking to someone.....sleath. Heh.

I’ve hit as many as three in one year. Only one this year so far.

How about

Why do Moslems BEHEAD Americans?

(It's "halal", of course.)

Ḥalāl (Arabic: حلال‎ ḥalāl, 'permissible') or hallal[1] is any object or an action which is permissible to use or engage in, according to Islamic law. The term covers and designates not only food and drink but also all matters of daily life.[2] It is one of five الأحكام الخمسة (al-ahkam al-khamsah) — fard (compulsory), mustahabb (recommended), halal (allowed), makruh (disliked), haram (forbidden) — that define the morality of human action in Islam.

We have a few roads in California where Elk roam and have the right away. Of course only an idiot would run over an Elk while driving a vehicle.

Lots of Democrat gun owners-hunters in Pennsylvania. No Dem there is dumb enough to run as a gun grabber.

I’ll keep you *posted* on my little private jihad. I’m expecting surveillance cameras to be installed soon in the meat department.

I’ll claim dementia when they tackle me at the exit...know any good 1A lawyers?

Great pictures.

Good highway planning and smart elk.

Deer can do enough damage to a vehicle when we hit one.

Elk vehicle impact can make deer impact look like a walk through the park.

BOL!:

We had some nice people move in from Texas to our neighborhood, and they built a wonderful deck that extended out and over the terrain. The deck was high enough that the local deer on hot days or during rain, got under the deck. At first it was 5 does and their fawns. 3 does had twins.

The wife was a Bambi lover, I(operative word "Was".

We warned her about fleas, ticks, diseases from both and the odor of deer poop and urine as it accumulated under the deck.

My wife warned her about the danger of horny bucks during mating season.

I warned her about does getting protective when they had little fawns.

They ended up with a flea infestation and one of their dogs getting Lyme disease from a tick bite.

They were afraid to go out past the deck with the protective does and horny visiting bucks.

The guy, finally had enough, and had cyclone fencing put around the edges of the elevated deck to prevent them from getting in. Then, he borrowed a big dog for a few days and nights to chase the deer away.
