After having been a smoker for just about 40 years, I made the plunge.
I was very surprised - it pretty much totally eliminated the urge to smoke! Well, except for the hand thingy... but it took away the urge!
It's been ten days so far. I have a nearby pack of smokes sittin around if need be.
Curious about others situations and experiences.
I have an office in Hawaii. EVERYONE seems to vape nicotine. Personally I don’t smoke or vape but it seems to be the way to go here. AND, the best thing, is it doesn’t stink up the shop when the guys come back from a break. I would certainly think your lungs will appreciate not breathing in the burning tobacco.
Thanks!
Counting down till the “I can smell it!!” folks show up...
Since june 1st, 2 pack a day smoker for years. Tried everything else. If you plunge, don’t go for the cheap hardware.
Another cult that swaps out one crutch for another. Never smoked myself but find it amusing what people will do to satisfy a need.
The vape craze along with it’s vocabulary swept though office I work at and within a couple months 15 or so folks were hooked.
I’m at about 80% regular smokes and 20% vaping. I’ve heard some good things about the Vuse device but haven’t tried it yet. It’s supposed to be closer to the “real thing”.
I can’t smell it and I was a smoker for 30 years before I gave up! All the best giving up all!
Well I figured I was gonna try it so I went for the cheapo Smart Smoke stuff, I mean it’s available at 7-11’s, etc.
So now that I’ve tried it, I very well might try something better. Any suggestions?
it’s disgusting just like smoking is
I started vaping almost 2 years ago after nearly 45 years of smoking. My husband too. I don’t miss smoking at all and have not cheated even once. You can go crazy with the various types of devices you can purchase, but the worst are those that look like cigarettes. We have local vape shops all over the place where you can try different setups and find something that works for you. Good luck. I don’t regret making this decision. Nothing else worked for me.
Good luck and best wishes.
I've heard no negative reports from people who are using it to cut down or quit smoking; only many positive ones.
Thanks!
Well it’s not quitting smoking, nicotine is still present but without all the other ingredients from tobacco.
Right now it is inexpensive but I’m sure at some point the tax man will ruin that.
Congratulations!
You didn’t say what device you’re using. If you’re using one of those store-bought thingies with the small batteries, then you’re initial enthusiasm will wane quickly. Else if someone turned you on to a good “mod”, then disregard the rest of this message.
Research something like the Vamo, that takes a 18650 3.7 volt battery, and a tank/atomizer like Kanger or Vivi Nova (my personal favorites). Initial investment will be around $100, but if you’re a pack-a-day guy, then you’ll be in the black within a month.
I recently tried a friend’s Kayfun atomizer, and despite the $99 price, that’s what I’ll be doing next.
Good luck to you!!! Although the way the Republic is going now, you might want to take up smoking again. And heavy drinking too....
Thanks for the tips!
As far as the Republic goes, I was more worried about morning coffee and the occasional beer...
Surprise! Both turned out to be no problem!
But I am starting the search for a longer term solution than the cigarette type quickies that I am currently using.
I did Chantix 2 yrs. ago. Worked great.
The only side effect I had was sleep trouble but I cut the evening dose in half and that solved that.
Occasionally have the urge, even to try an electronic cigarette but haven’t had even a puff in 2 yrs. and won’t.
It’s not for everyone but I’m a proponent of at least trying it.
I use one called “Buck Naked”. The kit comes with battery, vaporizer, and rechargerer. You can buy a bottle of “juice” in different flavors and tobacco flavors and refill as needed. Battery lasts 6-8 hours then recharge takes about an hour. I smoked a pack and a half a day and I haven’t had a cig since Thanksgiving last year. If you smoke the e-cig first when you want one and use it until you have to have a cig it helps to quit.
