Spaceweather.com is back up.
Seems they had hardware go down right in the middle of it all.
Looking at pics, kinda jealous of those who got to see it.

So that’s what one looks like... LOL. My grand daughter was named Aurora after the northern lights... but my comment was because I found an old Aurora emblem at the junkyard not too long back and she just loved it when she first saw her name in Chrome!

Yeah, I feel cheated! Last time they predicted auroras they were several hundred miles further south than predicted, so I was hoping they’d be that wrong again and I’d get to see it finally...nope!

My wife did go outside a little earlier last night, but wasn’t able to see anything... We live fairly close to the city, too much light pollution.

We've seen a handful of auroras over the years in fact, a few miles southeast of the Town of Aurora there's an Audubon nature preserve with a small observatory on the grounds run by the Buffalo Astronomical Association where we used to go on weekends ... About 25 miles outside the city, skies are dark enough where you can see many faint objects through their 'scopes. While there once about 10 years ago, we witnessed a spectacular display, extending quite high from North with many vivid greens & even some reddish hues. Unfortunately, we haven't seen anything since which matched that.
Otherwise, it's enjoyable to take in what others have been able to capture from their locales:

I laughed so hard other skeptical family members demanded to see it, and they laughed as hard.

It surprises me sometimes what people think is funny, because I’m sort of blind to my own sense of humor. I’ve only seen an aurora once, by the way, on a train going to S. Dakota. So apparently they can be seen a good distance south of Alaska. And no doubt the viewing conditions were excellent.
