Several people in my area have noted that their pets are acting weird. The behavior usually amounts to staring out windows and doors whining and shivering and hiding under tables and other furniture etc. .
Or if they are outside they badly want inside even though they never do much any other time.
They also keep tails tucked and sort of slink around like they are in distress.
This is not one or two people but my count has over 20 different households within a ten mile radius that have pets acting in the same way for about 3 days now.
My dog can not seem to settle down and wants to be as close as he can get to me and the Missus. Some thought it is the festival in town but it just set up Yesterday and the behavior has been going on longer than that. And we had no such behavior last year reported.
We are all at a loss and the local vet has no idea but he tells us dogs and cats can sense stuff humans can't.
They are doing a lousy damn job, as Red England is the LEAST religious region of the country.
Interesting...
Are you on the edge of a town?
If so I would look to a predator of some kind sneaking around where you live.
Coyote’s are a prime suspect you can go out side and hear them them howl. A pack of feral dogs is another possibility. Maybe a black bear. In Ohio I doubt it is a mountain lion
People are going to laugh at this one if they haven’t seen one but it could also be a Sasquatch, they are in Ohio and dog are, for good reason, scared of them.
my dogs have been refusing to go out to the grass to do their business. They want to use the back porch for their toilet area. I have to go out with them and yell “GO TO THE GRASS”! They put their tails between their legs and go where I tell them. I think the problem is we have had quite a bit of rain and they don’t like to get their feet wet.
Bobcat on the prowl here. Killing my chickens.
Our town is basically and abandoned Coal Mine.
We have lost over 20 houses and a Church to mine shafts subsiding...
New Madrid Fault line runs through Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Arkansas, Tennessee, Kentucky and Mississippi. If Ohio is affected, it’s the BIG one!
Sharknado?
Seriously, the squirrels here all disappeared 2 days ago. Even the mothers took their babies out of the nests and went somewhere.
Nope I am in the middle of the downtown business district (though it's more of a ghost town in this section)
Our dogs hate wet grass!
Thunder frightens my dogs.
Where do you live?
They may be picking up low frequency vibrations of ground settlement. Are you sure you’re on solid ground?
My Saint Bernard freaks during thunderstorms. She’s on Xanax for that. Thundershirts, yeah right.
had windows raised Sunday night and about 4 a.m. heard a sound that have never heard before. Sounded close. Both Better Half and I asked each other, ‘did you hear that?’ Sounded something like a long elastic tie cord that had stretched out and had been shot through the air slightly above ground. Strangest thing have ever heard. A whistling sound and sounded like elastic expanding and retracting for about two or three seconds. Felt no movement and earthquakes in this region have been known to be proceeded by loud noises of the BOOM variety.
My little stud has been running and romping, then running again. Acts like something frightens him, then runs again.
I’m having bobcat problems.
SOuthern Ohio Jackson County
