St. Louis Rams rookie defense lineman Ethan Westbrooks made the final 53-man roster on Saturday, beating out Michael Sam for one of the team's final spots...
Westbrooks told ESPN's Nick Wagoner that he got a tattoo below his eye in 2011 because he never wanted to get a normal job again. Making it in the NFL would be the only way to prevent him from becoming "a guy that has a tattoo on his face looking for another job." ...

"because Sam had a pretty decent showing in camp also"
Not decent enough to beat out an undrafted free agent. Last I heard the Rams still hadn't signed him to the practice squad even though he cleared waivers.

IQ of 3 is too high for this Bozo.

IIRC the average time a player will play in the nfl is only 4-5 years.

Obviously this guy hasn’t been out it public in awhile. Tattoos do not prevent you from being able to work. I was at a local grocery store the other day and I saw employees with tattoos, nose rings, and those stupid circle earrings that deform your ears.
These days, it just doesn’t matter what you look like because the majority of people under 30 have scarred their body in some way.

In the spirit of Cortes.... Oddly, it’s an act in recognition of his lack of self-discipline. Hope he makes it in the NFL.

Warren Sapp was undrafted. I'm just saying that a good, solid offensive lineman can last a while in the league. And they are paid well. The tattoo provided motivation. Good for him. I even like what is says: "Laugh today, cry tomorrow."
Heck that even motivates me. But I'll stop short of tattooing it on my face.

Warren sap was the 12th overall pick in the 1995 draft taken by Tampa Bay.

But if this guy irreparably blows his knee out in the first season, because he doesn’t want a “regular job” does that mean his career plan is to hold up Quick Trips and other markets for fun and profit?
It seems most of the business models of these sports stars are on the “low information player” side of the equation.
