UPDATE: Alicia Marie Englert, 24, gave birth to the baby on Sunday. Police say the newborn had not received any medical care or food.
Investigators say they learned through the investigation that Englert threw the baby into the trash can. A Probable Cause statement filed by police stated "the birth mother was afraid to tell her parents about her pregnancy. She said she discarded the baby in hopes that it would die and solve her problems."

Birth mother was 24 YO and still afraid of her parents? There’s more to this story than meets the eye, IMHO. Sure hope that baby gets placed with a loving family.
Do I agree with the mother doing this? At that point in time, it's better than letting the baby die. I assume a lot of these moms had pangs of conscience that prevented them from having an abortion. I'll grant them this way out if it saves life.
Ignore my thoughtless post - as I read the article I see the birth mother may have learning disabilities.
It would appear several members of her family did. I’d say the girl’s elevator did not reach the top floor.

Guess those “no questions asked” centers where you can drop off an unwanted baby don’t work.
You can’t just drop off a dog or cat at a center without being asked your name and for a donation.
I guess “learning disabilities” is the new term for “completely mentally incompetent.” They’ll have to come up with something new for people who are dyslexic or have problems memorizing.
“learning disabilities” = now days, ‘averse to taking responsibility for yourself’
Some ‘learning disabled’ individuals have pets and do well caring for them... but this 24 YO cannot care for a child-even HER OWN?

I think a LOT of young women have the SAME mental ‘disability’.

Yeah, some guys are like that. I know several families with mentally handicapped daughters, and they’re all concerned that the daughter will be forced or persuaded into sex.
