Controversial former baseball relief pitcher John Rocker will be playing along with his girlfriend, spray-tan business owner Julie McGee. Rocker pitched for the Atlanta Braves in the 1999 World Series against the Yankees. But later that year, Rocker became embroiled in controversy when he was asked in a Sports Illustrated article whether he would ever consider playing in New York and was quoted as saying, Id retire first. Its the most hectic, nerve-racking city. Imagine having to take the 7 train to the ballpark looking like youre [riding through] Beirut next to some kid with purple hair next to some queer with AIDS right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. Its depressing
The biggest thing I dont like about New York are the foreigners. You can walk an entire block in Times Square and not hear anybody speaking English. Asians and Koreans and Vietnamese and Indians and Russians and Spanish people and everything up there. How the hell did they get in this country?

EveningStar more cast today, but dread the Amazing Race twiinies. And btw , AR won EMMY while Survivor was not nominated for last season.
I think John Rocker is almost as non PC as me. F the rat bast-—s
Rocker in a way ushered in the extreme PC movement. aka, sometimes it is better to think things, rather than say them.
“Absolute certainties are a rare thing in this life, but one I think can be collectively agreed upon is the undeniable fact that the Holocaust would have never taken place had the Jewish citizenry of Hitler’s Germany had the right to bear arms and defended themselves with those arms”

John Rocker was the ENEMY. as a Yankees fan back in the days he played against my team in the WS.
Didn’t hate him though. Kind of thought his game face was a bit nuts (up there with Al Hrabosky, “ The Mad Hungarian”). Also thought perhaps he was not smart enough to realize that if you say stuff like:
“Imagine having to take the 7-train to (Shea Stadium) looking like you’re riding through Beirut, next to some kid with purple hair, next to some queer with AIDS, right next to some dude who just got out of jail for the fourth time, right next to some 20-year-old mom with four kids. It’s depressing.”
You will get skewered in the media. Actually agree with him pretty much, but unless one has the wit and stamina to take on the MSM and their Marxist overlords, one would do best to choose ones words with more care or be prepared to make every pitching outing either good or bad, to be looked through the ‘he’s a racist/sexist/homophobe’ lens, even in the sports pages
Wow, this show is still on!
Personally, I never saw what was wrong with Rocker's statement.
Rocker was right on everything he said. F the PC police and F NY!
Gotta love a guy for telling it like it is I guess.
What he said is a reflection of our society (then and worse now).
I’m with you.... do not want to listen to those twins! Maybe they’ll get voted off early!
You make an excellent point about having stamina, wit and I would say a support system to take on the mass media and the politically correct people who control this country. I think Sarah Palin has survived personally because she has all three.
While as a NYer I have no problem with what Rocker said (some is true), his biggest mis-hit, I think, was saying that Times Square is loaded with foreigners. Most of the people milling around like idiots seem to be American tourists. (What’s with the excitement of sitting in a chair in the middle of Broadway???)
Those twins are some of the most annoying game players ever. Can’t stand them or their screeching voices - “Twin! Twin! Twin!” Please them them get voted off before they hit the beach. Blah, also, to the token gay couple. As if Mark didn’t learn his lesson with Colton.
Rocker might just save the season. But, of course, PC dictates they’ll vote him off before the twins and the gays.
Hi Miss M
Funny thing about this guy is he seems to turn a blind eye toward the meth labs, 13 year old inbreeding welfare moms, and the like from ‘the country’ it ain’t all ‘’Mayberry” “dukes of hazard” down there either.
tired of people on the show that are former players or have fame or money. I would rather watch ghetto @$$, broke folks from working class families who have never been on a show and who are broke or maybe on public assistance. that would make it interesting to me. I get the aesthetics of it all, needing attractive people to keep the shallow viewers but I would just like to see a whole cast of folks who had been kicked off insurance thanks to obamacare or who had been laid off, rather than re-treads.
Oh, that’s true! I suppose because rural America is so spread out and people drive cars (or pickup trucks), they forget their own awful problems. I have friends in North Carolina and all their children seem to be crack addicts! What that’s about, I have no idea.
Still take it everyday over NYC, Chicago and the likes.

agreed. you know I have a hunting camp upstate NY around 4 hours from NYC and I have traveled the width and breath of this country, and there is not much difference between, oh let's say the ideal (the Mayberry experience) and towns up by my hunting land.
sad part about NY and also states like PA is the cities have the population that crams the liberal mantra down the throats of solid rock ribbed constitutionalists.
I live in the LI burbs. loaded with drugs here. I raised 3 boys in public schools(plus lots of home education as what NOT to believe in public schools)....not a drug taker in the lot. only one who will drink a beer with me. they are grown between ages 23 and 33. when kids I took them Hunting, Fishing and went to their Baseball and Soccer(yuk) games.
when I had to work on my car (I did about 75% of my own repairs even though I was no longer worked as a mechanic and was in the pharmaceutical business) the boys, whether they liked it or not were under the car with me. the lawn needed cutting? once the first one reached 12, he was doing it, and they all had there turn as lawn monitor
the oldest has a masters in mechanical engineering and works in a large engineering firm and as a professor of night classes at a SUNY school... the middle is working in pharmaceuticals and almost has his bachelors....and the youngest is working in pharmaceuticals and I finally got him back in school for at least a 2 year degree...
It doesn't take a village, it takes PARENTING.
