Antonio Smith, 9 years old, was assassinated the other day.
He was Chicago's youngest fatal shooting victim this year. He was shot at least four times and fell in a backyard on the South Side.
And when I went out there on 71st and Woodlawn less than 24 hours after he was murdered, here's what I didn't see:
I didn't see protesters waving their hands in the air for network TV cameras. I didn't see the Revs. Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson playing their usual roles in the political race card game.

So someone is trying to make money....
So sad. Rest in Peace young man. Prayers to the family.
“I went to school 11 blocks from there (60th and Woodlawn). Few problems in that area. A few blocks can make a difference in those parts.”
No surprise there.
In Houston it is only two blocks in one direction to El Salvador and two blocks the other way to Guatemala and two blocks to I-45 and bedlam.
Robinson: Unrest shines light on invisible African-Americans
So invisible, Eugene can't see this black 9 yr old.
They are welcome to try..
I’m not giving um 99 cents though.
The locals have put a price on the shooters head..
I think it was Chris Plant who suggested that in a case like this, a crowd of white folks ought to show up, rant, riot, and loot the neighborhood.
I am almost positive a female on FOX asked Jesse, who was in Ferguson, about Chicago during the last week and the response was “I plan on going there...” or something to that degree. The interview was some point at night though the memory is a blur at best.
“...Detroit is better than this.

OUCH !!!
That’s gotta hurt...
Fine, but I want it said in outright plain English, “do you not find it hypocritical that you rush to the scene of an alleged hate crime involving a black being killed by a white, but continue to ignore and basically do nothing about the black on black crime in places like Chicago, NVC, and Memphis which accounts for 90% of violent black deaths? Isn’t is just about money?”
That is what I want to hear on prime time tv to the face of Barry, Jesse, or Al or all three. Nobody in the press has the mensch to do that.
It’s about time someone noted the racial hypocrisy. This poor kid was killed by thugs likely little older than he was and is just another statistic in the Chicago Black on Black murders. Sharpton and Jackson won’t be there leading is funeral or protests in the streets just like they were absent last year when three young Black thugs shot an innocent white college exchange student in the back while he was jogging near his campus in Oklahoma or two Black hoodlums beat an 89 year old WW-II vet to death in Portland last year.
By the current polls, Mayor Rahm Emmanuel, as liberal and as tied to the Obamas as he is, is about to be replaced by someone even more liberal, Chicago Teachers Union President Karen Lewis. It seems to be a big city trend, replace a crazy lib with an even crazier one in hopes that they will do better with the example of NYC replacing ‘Nanny’ Bloomberg with De Blazio, an even further leftist! Lots of hope that going further left cures what ails these cities and yet that is what the low-information voter does and perhaps that is what former teacher Lewis counts upon.
Much agreed, but this is The Leftist Chicago Tribune. It's a start.
The JustUs Bros won’t touch these heartbreaking stories ~ no CA$H to be made.
Also read where thugs in Chicago shot a 3-year old boy in the face. He’s in critical condition, last I heard. Again...where are the *Revs*? Pimping Ferguson.
I’m sure there is outrage in the community, but we will never hear much about it, because the race hustlers and the MSM are busy creating and then intensively covering their manufactured outrage in Ferguson.
Yes, I remember his speech, “Black is Beautiful.” I am old enough that there was actually a time I liked Jackson. He used to be pro-life, too.
Oh Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton!!! Where are you???
A few blocks and a few years.
