Before Texas Governor Rick Perry's criminal indictment, before national attention turned its focus to the state capital Austin and Perry's 2016 presidential ambitions - Travis County District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg was arrested for drunk driving.
Lehmberg, a Democrat, is one of the most powerful prosecutors in the state. She had a blood alcohol level of 0.239percent - nearly three times the legal limit - when she was arrested in April 2013.
Jailhouse video shows her drunk, belligerent, threatening officers, kicking the door of her cell and repeatedly trying to pull rank in the Travis County Detention Center.

Very heavy drinkers seldom completely sober up. Elevated blood alcohol levels 24/7 whether they’re literally consuming alcohol at the moment or not. Forestalling the inevitable hangover for a very long time makes it much, much worse, to the point of hallucinations, body tremors, night sweats. Very unpleasant. Reinforces the destructive behavior, fear of those consequences.

In the full (over an hour long) video there is talk with a driver who’s car she side-swiped without stopping (hit and run). Hit and run with a DUI is a felony. But those charges were never filed. Would you file charges against your counties DA knowing that the full weight of her office will descend on you?
Well, that adds a whole extra dimension to this.
Well not too sure - someone will come up with a story and mention the indictment.
Pretty sure she was in Beau Theriot’s mansion, local co-homo guy. Owns the Oasis complex.
And Perry and his spokespeople can mention the drunken slob DA who drove into oncoming traffic...
