I am getting tired of this "they killing us" screed from African Americans. While I do not know the facts of what happened in Ferguson and I think the police are coming off as shady the fact of the matter isit isn't quite like what the left wants you to believe.
First off although blacks make up 12.6% of the US population. Whites make up 72.4%. Which means there are 5.75 times more Whites in the US. Why is this important? Well black leadership and columnists are claiming they are disproportionately the victims of racial violence. Well the cold hard facts disagree with them. In 2011, the year of the latest crime statistics I could find, 448 whites were killed by blacks while the same year only 198 blacks were killed by whites. Keep in mind for statistic purposes if the death certificate records a death as not natural, accidental or suicide then it is a homicide. Which means even police killings are included in this list, although we don't know the exact number.
To extrapolate this more if whites killed blacks at the same rate as they kill us we would be killing rough 1400 of them instead of the 198 a year. Keep in mind this is only the single killer/single victim statistics.

Of the nearly 770,000 violent interracial crimes committed every year involving blacks and whites, blacks commit 85 percent and whites commit 15 percent.
Blacks commit more violent crime against whites than against blacks. Forty-five percent of their victims are white, 43 percent are black, and 10 percent are Hispanic. When whites commit violent crime, only three percent of their victims are black.
Blacks are an estimated 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against a white than vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit robbery.
Blacks are 2.25 times more likely to commit officially-designated hate crimes against whites than vice versa.

As a cultural note, in the 1920s through the ‘40s, when much of America was segregated, towns and smaller cities would often have a white side and a black side. The white side had the official government, but the black side had its own leadership, often run by the black side’s undertaker, who was likely the wealthiest person in the black side.
Though white policemen were expected to keep some order everywhere, this was limited on the black side, which had its own rules for keeping order.
A big rule was that often transient blacks of bad character would show up in the black side of town, and if they were known or discovered to be of bad character they were sent packing, told to keep moving as “their kind” wasn’t wanted there.
For its part, the white side treated transient whites of bad character the same way. But by the 1940s and ‘50s, the segregation system started collapsing. Returning vets wanted nothing to do with it, or other moribund social systems they despised, so refused to sustain them and openly despised them.
Unfortunately, with the collapse of segregation and these other systems was also lost their means of maintaining good character among the citizenry. This gave license to troublemakers and scoundrels to prey on the weak and create turmoil.
Nary a peep from Sharpton or Jackson if some innocent child gets killed in the crossfire of some gang thuggery in Chi-town, but someone like Trayvon gets killed in a confrontation and they go full racecard on it before the body is even cold.
But OJ didn’t kill Nicole or Ron Goldman...he was found Not Guilty?

I would think that the left/gov’t would have it stifled so that that information doesn’t get out.
What? Taking a way segregation did not cause crime. That makes no sense. Urban inner city minorities self segregate and they are the largest element of crime. Integrated communities are aren’t the problem.

An easier way to state it, based on those numbers, is that a black person is statistically 13 times more likely to kill a white person than a white person is to kill a black person.

It wasn’t the lack of segregation that caused crime, it was the loss of white *and* black social systems that drove out criminals. That is, whites who favored desegregation did not distinguish between black people of good character and black people of bad character.
And this has haunted black Americans ever since. Middle class black people are horrified of the idea that they are equated with lower class, criminal blacks. An earned Bachelors or Masters degree is *not* the same as having spent ten years in prison, and yet society often equates the two among blacks. Or at least middle class black people think so.
Taken further, when police in the US were encouraged to adopt “SWAT” tactics, in the mid to late 1970s, they also stopped treating people of different social classes differently, and appropriately to their class. Instead they treated a polite person (of whatever race) like they were some criminal gutter dweller.
This created enormous resentment among middle and upper class black people. “I am an executive with an MBA. I am not some crack head rapper with a string of priors, so quit treating me like one.”
I've often wondered, if whites pulled a "Reginald Denny" on black motorists in response to every black on white killing, maybe that might change. More people would pay attention, that's for sure.

It is actually worse than what I said.
Blacks kill whites at a rate of 448/38929319 or 1 white per 86896 Blacks.
If we Killed One black per 86896 Whites the Number is 2573, so it is actually roughly 13x higher than what it actually would be if we did it at the same rate as they killed us.

It's no secret that for several years the FBI crime stats have been made more evasive and confusing by Holder's Dept of Justice in an effort to (mainly) obfuscate the racial crime statistics.
One of the FBI's underhanded little tricks to increase the white crime rate is to mix the Hispanic crime statistics with those committed by whites.
