NASCAR star Tony Stewart hit and killed another driver who was walking on the track in a sprint car race on Saturday night.

The other driver, Kevin Ward Jr., had collided with Stewart on the previous lap, leaving Ward’s car with a flat tire and pushed into the wall. As officials threw a caution, Ward left his car and began walking down the track — gesturing angrily toward Stewart — before being clipped and dragged 50 feet by Stewart’s car.

Several spectators told Bob Pockrass of The Sporting News that Stewart appeared to throttle his car before colliding with Ward.

MSM is making this accident into a murder story intentionally.

Bottom line, motor sports will eventually fall as NFL will due to pressure from the Left.

In the mean time motor sports will be pushed to limit their racing vehicles to electric powered with large soft bumpers and speeds not above 10 mph.

MSM is making this accident into a murder story intentionally.

The media wants a big sensational story so they want to single Stewart out as having a history of "incidents" while ignoring every other driver with a history of "incidents". Its like singling out one hockey player for fighting.

Racing is dangerous and its even more dangerous when you're stupid.

I was hoping the Nancy Grace comment would make you take step back and take a breath.

There is absolutely no way Tony intentionally tried to harm Kevin Ward Jr.

Kevin almost gets hit by the driver in front of Tony. ... Could Tony even see Kevin at this point?

Civil Suit? ...who's responsible for this tragedy?

The one that got out of their car before safety personnel arrived and was in the middle of the racetrack, almost getting hit by another driver before he does get hit.

There should be a rule across all racing leagues, no one gets out of their car before safety personnel arrive.

...if you have a beef, take it the garage area.

What exactly is the speed limit during a caution at that track?

Very bad for racing, caused by a stupid kid who let his temper get the best of him.
Nearly got hit by the car preceding Stewart.”””

IF the car in front of Tony had hit & killed the kid, would all of this controversy even be happening?

The kid walking into racing traffic.

Sensational, inaccurate, mistaken, misguided, and half-a$$ed “journalism” pretending to be an accurate news story. It was pathetic reporting. Makes me wonder if the individuals putting together this story have ever left Manhattan island in their life.””””

Would even 1% of all this controversy be happening if the first driver had hit Ward?

Kevin’s dark suit was fully striped...I can’t see where there would be any visual problem....especially in the dark.”””

You & I are seeing the
fully striped’ driving suit from the side-—with lighting from that angle.

What did all the drivers see? The FRONT of the suit—which we cannot see & we don’t know if there were ANY stripes on it.

I don’t think those stripes are REFLECTIVE, either, but it wouldn’t have reflected anything from Winged Sprint car because hey don’t have headlights.

I don’t think the divers could see Ward.

The only racing cars I know of which have lights are the off-road racers, such as Baja 1000 & Daytona/LeMans 24 hour cars.

Most of the ‘headlights’ you see on other race cars are just painted on.

This was a night race. With winged Sprint cars—and that wing cuts off side vision to the right side. The kid hit was wearing black driving suit. The drivers were NEVER expecting a PEDESTRIAN on the track.

IF you can, get a chance to sit in the seat of a WINGED sprinter.

The view to the right fore & side is severely restricted.

How many drivers do you know that are prepared to avoid a PEDESTRIAN on the track-—at night—in a dark/black driving suit?

I challenge you to go to a local track or garage & do some interviews.

IF the first driver had hit Ward, would all of this controversy be happening. ???

The kid walking into racing traffic.

They were doing 30 to 35 mph under caution.

it’s pretty clear that this young driver caused his own death.”””

PEDESTRIANS are not a normal expectation on the part of ANY driver in ANY type of racing.

Least of all, drag boats & offshore racing!

Maybe what NASCAR will do is prohibit their drivers from being in unsanctioned unofficial events. Some sports prohibit their athletes from being in “other events”, say an NFL player in a volleyball game or at least a “professional volleyball game” for instance.

I have also seen him a Hopalong Cassidy episode & a Jim Bowie episode.

I talked to him in April to wish him a Happy Birthday. He’s doing well.

If Ward’s body caused that wheel to lose traction, and load on the engine, the engine would immediately rev with no load.’’’

TOTALLY CORRECT!!

I doubt that will fly.

It is a restriction on a person’s ability/willingness to work & make money.

Also- there are many drivers who start in other types of racing & ‘graduate’ to NASCAR or Formula One, or whatever.

You cannot start at the top.

I think I read an article yesterday that said that all cars were traveling 35mph or less.

I would assume if a professional driver knew he just sent another vehicle out of control, end over end, into the wall or whatever, about 25 seconds later as he passed the collision scene, he would exercise great caution due to the potential of debris, bodies or stalled/stopped vehicles on the track.

No?

I raced stock cars for several years and one of the things they always stressed in the driver’s meetings is to stay in your car until the safety team gets there unless your car is on fire.

Thanks, but I generally avoid going into personal things like that on the Internet. It seems to be the prudent thing to do.

Take care...
