NASCAR star Tony Stewart hit and killed another driver who was walking on the track in a sprint car race on Saturday night.
The other driver, Kevin Ward Jr., had collided with Stewart on the previous lap, leaving Wards car with a flat tire and pushed into the wall. As officials threw a caution, Ward left his car and began walking down the track gesturing angrily toward Stewart before being clipped and dragged 50 feet by Stewarts car.
Several spectators told Bob Pockrass of The Sporting News that Stewart appeared to throttle his car before colliding with Ward.

Plus he is an uber pro at a amateur race. He more then anyone else should know to be uber cautious when that flag comes out. There is no telling what may be in the road ahead.
I want to know if he had a spotter. If so TS is screwed
Stewart made a mistake? From what I can tell, it looks like Ward made the mistake of running into the path of fast moving vehicles.
I'm pointing out a fact. He taps cars. We've all see it 1000 times at the races and he did the same damn thing last year.
I agree......................
“Now we just have to decide if it is manslaughter or murder.”
It was neither, just an accident.
I don’t care for TS, but he isn’t at fault here at all.
OK, thanks. Are you sure that he had no radio communication during the race even though you would not call it a “spotter”
Do you have a link to the video that shows Stewart "aiming" his car at the other driver? I've only seen one video and you can't see Stewart's intention in that one.
P. S. Thanks for ruining my Nancy Drew Moment. : )
Looks to me like he meant to put a scare into Ward. If I had to testify based on what I saw on video, it’s what I would say.
That is cool my friend. We will just have to disagree
I usually watched NASCAR races from the infield, or with the track management. How many times have you sat in on a NASCAR pre-race driver's meeting? How many times have you ever taken a spin in the pace car at a NASCAR track?
You've heard of the term "A meeting of the minds"?
Well this was "A meeting of the morons"...
The first moron walked toward a speeding car. The second moron accelerated said speeding car and caused the rear of his vehicle to slalom into the first moron and kill him.
Stupidity2
Zero chance he’s arrested.
A fool and his money are soon parted. What kind of 'effing idiot would risk his well-being, his finances, and now his reputation over something like this?
Especially knowing Tony Stewart's roots.
Exactly, happens all the time (without death) and we know Tony is not shy.
In that one tenth of a second TS may have made a very bad decision.
Bottom line Tony should be “better” and know more then anyone else on the track. He knows he is racing with people that are not near as good as him and they have very little experience for the most part.
If you want to engage in activities such as that you better go above and beyond in every step you take.
Tony is not that kind of a man. He was not cautious enough at a “rookie” track when that flag came out
All those guys saying that he had to gun the engine to steer the car are full of crap. Throttle steering only applies when the car is near the limit (and sliding in the case of sprint cars).
After everyone had slowed down for the caution, the cars would steer as normal and there would be no need for throttle to steer the car.
OK. LOL.
