Another teen gang banger bites the dust. Although the teen had been arrested four times for violent crimes since the age of 12, the news reporter helpfully points out that the criminal could not legally posess a gun "because of his age".

I thought it was a good factual report.

This will be trotted out as another child killed by a gun, so of course everyone should have their guns taken away.

This was not the 5-feet 8-inch tall, 130-pound teen's first brush with violence. State records state he was a convicted felon arrested twice since age 12 for armed robbery with a gun, once for battery on a public or school employee and once for burglarizing a home. And yet no serious prison time. God knows how many other victims the armed citizen prevented by dispatching this yout'.

I’m sure he was just going to the store for some watermelon ice tea and skittles when he was gunned down.

Although the teen had been arrested four times for violent crimes since the age of 12, Arrests do not matter.
If I was arrested many times, I could still own a gun, PROVIDED I had never been convicted of an offense that barred me from gun ownership. Only convictions matter, and these days felony arrests are routinely plea bargained down to misdemeanors.
