Nobel Peace Prize recipient Jimmy Carter takes to ForeignPolicy.com to argue that the key to ending the current war in Gaza is "recognizing Hamas as a legitimate political actor." Writing along with fellow "Elder" Mary Robinson (part of an "international group of elder statesmen"), the former president pins the blame for the current conflict on Israel's refusal to appreciate a "major concession" made by Hamas in April and to recognize the new Palestinian government formed by the Hamas-Fatah "reconciliation":
This tragedy results from the deliberate obstruction of a promising move toward peace in the region, when a reconciliation agreement among the Palestinian factions was announced in April. This was a major concession by Hamas, in opening Gaza to joint control under a technocratic government that did not include any Hamas members. The new government also pledged to adopt the three basic principles demanded by the Middle East Quartet comprised of the United Nations, the United States, the European Union, and Russia: nonviolence, recognition of Israel, and adherence to past agreements. Tragically, Israel rejected this opportunity for peace and has succeeded in preventing the new government's deployment in Gaza.

Nithing but a bucked tooth mouth breather. He is an idiot.
Jimmy is doing what he can to make sure that he isn’t remembered as the WORST president in American history.
I remember this fellow when he was Governor of Georgia
Just after Lester Maddox
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lester_Maddox
I was one of perhaps 15% of Georgians
who did not vote for him for President
There’s a reason Carter only won six states in 1980. This is one of them. His foreign policy positions are horrendous.
And he never learns.
“Why oh why does the media including conservative outlets feel obligated to report every word that comes out of the mouth of that idiot?”
I’ve often wondered this about the frequent quotes from actors, many of whom I’ve never seen act. The answer that occurred to me is that the press reports those quotes from “famous” people that reflect how THEY feel. (Notice I said feel instead of think.)
Clearly Jimmy was the worst president in the 20th Century.
Unfortunately, Our Glorious Leader Obamanation has taken the title of worst president in American history.
As if we needed any more evidence that the left is sub servant to violently anti west Islamists. There is little discussion of Iraq, Syria and ISIS and this explains much of the reason. Like Hamas, they are really admirable, positive political movements. I just can’t sync with the progressive mind. They are pushing us toward enslavement.
Lillian "Miss Lillian" Carter
Hamas = nice targets
(Jimmy Carter: Hamas a ‘Legitimate Political Actor’)
Yeah Jimmy about as legitimate as you...........
for those of you who fear fubo will tear this country apart, i give to you...
jimmah cahtah....
i live through his so called presidency, and fubo is just slightly worse than him...
we will survive, and what will follow (if the damned pubs do not put up mcromney again) will play out the same as the reagan years

Carter never met an Islamic terrorist he didn’t adore. Islamic terrorists have wished for a long time to have Western leaders who are as stupid, gullible and treasonous as Carter, and now they have it with the Obama regime.
Gun free zones are only for ‘murican schools.
Napalm, people. Napalm.
Given that politics is thuggery I have to agree with Jimmy.
Hamas, mass-murdering terrorist group, is about as “legitimate” a “poltiical actor” today as, say, embarrasing old mean anti-Semites in the pay of Saudi IslamoNazis
It is going to be a real race to see if Carter or Bush Sr. cashes in first. I know I should not say this but I hope Carter wins going away!
