Time to boycott Turner Classic Movies all day Friday: they are featuring nothing but Jane Fonda movies all day and including a "Lifetime Achievement Award" segment for her as well. I realize that Jane is Ted Turner's Ex but she is also a traitor to her country who went to our enemy's capitol to broadcast treason on their radio, betrayed her country's fighting men, and returned home to push pro-enemy propaganda. We have never dealt with her as we should have and punished her for her betrayal. Can anyone imagine what would have happened to anyone who had traveled to Nazi Germany during the war, made treasonous broadcasts on Radio Berlin, and then encouraged revolt against our government when he or she returned? Contact TCM and let them know how we feel about this tribute to a traitor.
“We have never dealt with her as we should have and punished her for her betrayal.”
We never dealt with most of the satanic traitorous filth of that generation as we should have, and because of our inaction, we are reaping the rewards of having allowed them to successfully take over our government.
TCM is my favorite channel bar none.
Boycotting Jane Fonda however will be a breeze. Not one of her movies except On Golden Pond is worth a damn. I’ll just watch some recordings.
Your intellectual evaluation of the acting talents of Hanoi Jane astound me.
I’ll watch Nine to Five anytime. Not for Fonda’s sake but to watch Parton and Coleman.
It’s silly, sure, But a decent comedy.
I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT THE ALLEGED ACTING TALENTS OF "HANOI JANE" FONDA.
I also don't give a shit about how 'hot' she may have looked in a move I haven't even seen. (That, actually, applies to ALL "Hanoi Jane" Fonda movies.)
I find her beneath contempt. See post #7, again, for pictorial representation of why I find her beneath contempt.
Maybe treason doesn't bother you. Maybe you're OK with treason, so long as the traitor is a good actor. I don't know ... but it's not looking very good for you.
Barbarella aside...
It’s definitely worth a call to TCM (a station I do like) to let them know what you think of honoring a contemptible person who did a reprehensible thing by betraying her country and every single man who served in Vietnam fighting communist aggression.
“Bodaciousness” doesn’t now and won’t ever cover up what she did.
Truth be told, she wasn’t all that “bodacious”.
Now, if you’re talking Anne Margaret, or Sophia Loren, same time period, now THAT’S bodacious...
Yep,
They started out being wonderful.
Now, more and more they’re pushing leftist crap - in their “interviews” and commentary and in their play list.
What a shame.
Boycott this while you watch that. Change the channel all you want- it's still all propaganda. Leftist propaganda, and you support it by paying your cable bills to leftist corporations who control tv.
Boycott TV if you actually want to make any difference.
Starve the media, not the channel.
Vim Toot!
Thanks.
Even the leftists at Snopes can't really defend her.
"Fake but Accurate" is still fake.
Ted Turner no longer has anything to do with Turner Classic Movies, TBS, or any of those other channels that include his name. He sold to Time Warner years ago and left the board of that company in 2006.
He also no longer has anything to do with Hanoi Jane.
They divorced in 2001.
This “tribute” is the work of some new generation of anti-American Leftists.
“Id still watch Cat Ballou.”
That’s the problem with movie boycotts. She was just playing a part in a very funny movie. That part, indifferently acted, has nothing to due with her character. A lot of ultra progressive actors are good at their craft and their political positions take second seat behind the writer’s character they portray in the movie.
Any movies she dies in?
I’ll watch that one.
You need to lie down in a cool, darkened room and have someone remove your cap lock.
To anyone else who cares, I once had the displeasure of sitting near this woman at a theatrical event in NYC. This was maybe 5 years ago. She wore a dreadful wig and spoke so loudly to her obviously feminista friends that she kept getting odd looks from other people in the room. I don’t know if she’s hard of hearing or just...narcissistic.
Then several hours later, she was called to give an amusing little speech (along with about 1,000 other actors). But Jane had fallen asleep at the dais and when she was finally prodded to the microphone she said: “This is a really weird event.” Once the boos died down, she made some innocuous remarks and plotzed back down in her seat, still looking completely stoned. Poor Master of Ceremonies, Jeremy Irons, then made some funny sarcastic remarks in her direction and we were all released back into the city streets. And that’s my Jane Fonda story.
I’ve boycotted hollyweird since the original Jaws. If everyone followed my lead, they would not exist.
I have checked off most of my bucket list. At the top right now is pissing on Hanoi Jane's grave. I will do everything in my power to live long enough to fulfill that dream. Several of my friends have passed. I am holding jars of their piss to fulfill their dream. Going to be a long line.
Fonda was up to her ears in the “Tailwind” fairy tales that the US attempted to murder deserters in Laos in 1970.
That didn’t work for her either.
Thank you for your service!
The problem is that TCM has run out of live stars to honor so since Jane has made a lot of movies and managed, somehow to steal two Oscars, what’s a cable channel to do?
Now while watching Boris Karloff in The Mummy last night, this obviously COMMUNISTIC cable channel managed to have a lovely tribute to Grace Kelly. I couldn’t figure out who was doing the voice over until the very end when it turned out to be her son, Prince Rainier. Wow, great tribute to a stupendous beauty and a fine actress.
