OK, I do not normally go out of my way for something like this, but I cannot sit back and do nothing when a young girl asks me to help. So, I am stepping up to see if anyone is willing to help, because this is an emergency. I have a friend, has done all she can to find a home for her two black Labrador dogs, Who have been together since they have been puppies. My friend Megan is just 15, and I am a friend of her grandfather, but she friended me on facebook and has become a good friend. Well, Megan's family is moving from Chico to Rancho Cordova and pets are not allowed at the new residence.
One is a male of almost 5 named Liberty, and the other is a female name Freedom of the same age. Liberty is not fixed, but Freedom is, and a home is needed by tomorrow or they go to the pound.
I know this is an extremely shorty notice, but I found out about the situation less than an hour ago, when Megan sent me a personal message pleading for my help. I promised I will do all I can, but even then I could not promise success.
We live in Chico California, so if anyone lives in this vicinity and has an ability to help, I am pleading on behalf of Megan for some help.
This is her plea,My two black labs "Freedom" (Male) & "Liberty" (Female), cannot go with us. I need to know by tomorrow (at the absolute LATEST) if anyone can take them. They're about 5 years old and they're good dogs. Liberty is fixed but Freedom is not. If you can only take one that's fine too. Although they've been together pretty much since birth so it may be hard on them. Contact me as soon as possible. If YOU cant take them ask someone in your family. It would be much appreciated. My grandma said the only other option is to take them to the pound and I don't wanna do that.
Liberty (Male) approx 5 years old
Freedom (Female) approx 5 years old
Why such short notice, by the way? That’s very odd. Didn’t they know before this?
Thanks - I first saw “chino” instead. My mistake.

Bad timing and bad communication. Don’t blame the girl. She needs help now.
Great, thanks
She hasn’t been trying very hard, has she — I was finding several potential no-kill shelters in just a few min — without being familiar with the area, just Google.
If she really cares for those dogs, she needs to do some searching and look in the phone book for no-kill shelters, since the time is so short, something like that might be the only quick solution.
And since the shelters depend on donation, I would highly recommend that she donates them for taking her dogs and hopefully find homes for them.
Wow, that is great. I just passed that on to her.

How about communicating via Freepmail to provide each other your outside email?
Since it is so easy to have several email addresses, that shouldn’t be a problem and if things are looking up, you might even actually exchange phone numbers — to save those two lovely dogs.
They are not that well off, that is why they are forced to move where they can afford to live. So donating is not in their bufget.

I just read this and picture a broken hearted teenage girl and 2 dogs that don’t deserve to be in a pound where they will be possibly be euthanized.
The shelters would probably take the dogs, if you find the right one.
You misunderstood — I don’t have any other info or help — it appeared the technical editor had some ideas to help, but needed an email address that he can provide others, if someone is interested.
We found a place. Thank God,
