Theall told the TV station that he is less angry about the shooting since the officer was likely surprised. But what did upset him was the officers refusal to let Theall and his wife take Doctor for treatment for more than an hour.
The officer even twice used his police cruiser to block the man from getting help for the dog, Theall claims.
No steps were taken by DeKalb police whatsoever to try to save my dogs life, he said.
The dog was still alive, clearly bleeding like crazy and the police officer blocked my exit, Theall continued.
Finally he convinced me that I would be thrown in jail if I didnt just stay where I was.

She also said that the police officer who pulled the trigger said that animal control were on their way to assist Doctor.
I find out that animal control was told to come pick up a dead dog and had no idea about the dog needing help, wrote Thealls wife.
A DeKalb County police spokesman said that he understands the couples frustration but that police officers kept Doctor at the scene in order to preserve evidence of the shooting.

Clearly a case of animal cruelty and should be prosecuted as such.
Prick belongs in jail for felony animal cruelty.
It won’t be prosecuted.
Unelected thugs that love to say “I run this town” they were hired as peace officers. What can you do but shut up and be treated like a criminal.
In our little city, multiple stories of guys in handcuffs being worked over, it’s filmed put on line for all to see. Their superiors are never held responsible.
Phones taken and info deleted, no ones at fault. They hold their own reviews of these things and once in a while someone is suspended, but never a superior supervisor.
These days, you’d be thug-scrummed.
Going to be my modus from now on.
Only way to preserve the crime scene, and too bad it the cop bleeds out............
Somebody planned this a long time ago, and implemented a radical change in the selection and training of American cops. They have become murderous thugs, shooting dogs and people.
The purpose is clear: to get the population accustomed to tyrannical, thuggish behavior, and to build up a gigantic force of cops eager to kill citizens when Obama orders them to.
Any data on the number of meter readers, mailman, or other “govmint” employees killed/injured in the course of their duties?
I wouldn’t dream of getting involved in any situation involving a cop, including calling for help if I saw one bleeding on the ground. They are an organized cohort of thugs and murderers. They are dangerous to be around. And I will never call them in any emergency. I don’t want to get shot.
Sherriff Mack and Arpaio are cool and one freeper cop.
It is getting really hard for me to see the others as good.
Mercy and dignity are uncool, while tats, rap, scowls and SWAT gear is cool.
This has to stop.
The Cops are totally out of control.
Small towns aren’t as bad as the big cities.
In a small town the cops run the risk of jacking with the wrong family and loosing their jobs because of it. That has a tendency to keep them in line or if you kick their butts for getting out of line not much if anything is done about it.
In the big cities they aren’t as likely to run the risk of jacking with the wrong family simply because there is more people in the cities, and cops have a tendency
to want to throw their weight around with people more.
Too many times in big cities cops aren’t held accountable so they just keep doing it. When one gets away with it then the others think they can get away with it.
Being in a rual area, I have never had a problem with sheriff deputies.
When I lived in a bigger city, half the cops had chips on their shoulders and I would avoid them at all costs.
However, I knew several that were outstanding.
The larger the population, the worse the police force appears to be. Impersonal & authoritarian.
The other night I was outside with my lab(potty break). A car came by and shined a spotlight on my pooch, (probably thought she may have been a stray). Stopped the SUV, he was an AZ deputy sheriff, told him the dog was harmless, he petted her, gave her a treat and we talked a moment.
Suppose if I was still in Illinois, he would have shot the dog and arrested me for not having her on a leash.
I just cannot wrap my mind around all this callous disregard for people and dogs the police have shown lately. It’s VERY worrisome.
I don’t ever recollect that happening with a wounded police officer...Keep him at the scene to protect the evidence...I believe they’ve been lied to by the police...Imagine that...
It scarcely seems possible.
I still basically support cops but it grows more difficult.
I used to socialize with a gal from work and her deputy
sheriff husband. Both of them are much younger than me and
they have many young deputy type friends they party with
in this rural county. Their friends never seemed to trust
anyone who was not a cop and I could catch the vibe when
I was in their midst.
It used to be that local big shots like some business
types, lawyers, judges, and local celebrities would get
an escort home if stopped for a DUI. Now, to bust the
biggest big shot is a feather in cops’ caps. That may
not be a bad thing but the cops will still give a break
to cop wives, girlfriends, and kids of other cops. That
sucks.
That’s what I gather.
I could understand why you so quickly became angry . . . I can’t stand Joe Buck either.
” Its obvious the observer effect occurs
on COPS.
Ive seen it more than a few times; so I
make sure to never watch it anymore.”
I’ve seen a few videos where a cop’s bad attitude improved instantly when they realized they were being recorded. They know how to behave. They just choose not to, as long as they think they are safe to vent.
