Most TV series "jump the shark" or get bad long before they end. But there's always a few that you wish that went on at least another season. Which TV series or program(s) do you wish hadn't ended when it did but continued on at least another year?
La Femme Nikita
American Bandstand
Love American Style
I’ll add my vote for the following:
The Unit, Firefly, Terra Nova, IT Crowd, House, Wild, Wild, West, The Prisoner,
WKRP in Cincinnati, Barney Miller, Red Dwarf, Taxi, Hill Street Blues,
Caprica, Are You Being Served, Stargate SG-1, Night Court, The Night Stalker,
Ponderosa, Hill Street Blues.
Babylon 5 was only intended to run 5 years so it wasn’t (almost but not quite) killed early. The follow up Excalibur was fairly good but it never had a chance being the follow up to Babylon 5 which was one of the greatest if not the greatest Sci-Fi series ever.
Star Trek simply wasn’t as high quality as Babylon 5 even though it had more spinoffs which also ran a long time.
JAG was great until the sponsors demanded changes to the actors which killed it for the last year.
Battlestar Gallactica (last version) reached it’s logical conclusion and there was little left to be able to build new material about.
Caprica, The prequil to Babylon 5, really wasn’t cut short, it finished the story it was intended to tell.
Yup, Firefly, very good show, that should have been on at least 5 seasons.
It had a big sprawling cast with lots of interesting characters, but most of all it was unpredictable.
*Ahem* “White” Collar, not “Whit” Collar.
Typing too fast...
One series that should have had at least one more season was from the 90’s called Nowhere Man starring Bruce Campbell.
Thank you all for the kudos to Firefly. I thought I was the only one who watched it. It was brilliant.
Firefly
Seinfield.
Have them come out of jail and see if they learned anything.
They could have their own halfway house with special guest stars.
Gilligans Island.
The girls could plot every week how to cure Skipper and Gilligan of their homosexuality and the professor of his ED problem.
Arrested Development is still going. Season 4 was released last year exclusively for Netflix. Movie may be next.
Star Trek had 3 seasons, comprised of 78 regular episodes, that was it.
CC
Mad Men
I got hooked on it but I noticed the creeping in of PCness.
Bring in new actors. Bring it into the seventies and for crying out loud avoid homos.
Two persons: I loved Homicide. The Wire lost me on the first episode with the lesbian.
The Gay Musical episode may have been the funniest thing I have ever seen on TV.

Fox cancelled this but aired Who Wants to Marry Harry...they’ve got some idiots making program decisions.
I love Magnum.
Firefly
and Farscape

“Special Unit 2” NCIS fans will notice a younger blonde Pauley Perrette in a few episodes.
Sports Night with Josh Charles, Peter Krause, Felicity Huffman .|
