CHEYENNE, Wyo.—The ever-changing thermal geology of Yellowstone National Park has created a hot spot that melted an asphalt road and closed access to popular geysers and other attractions at the height of tourist season, officials said Thursday.
As they examined possible fixes, park officials warned visitors not to hike into the affected area, where the danger of stepping through solid-looking soil into boiling-hot water was high.

Yep, it was kind of amazing how much hot tar we could collect on the bottom of our feet by the end of a day.

That looks like your average road in Pennsylvania.
But that road is likely to get fixed a lot sooner than any PA road.
Yeah, the road in front of our family home was tar and chip. As kids, we’d go out and pop the tar bubbles when the stuff pooled in the road, and used to tear up chunks and play with it like it was Play Doh. We were weird kids.
We could lose a LOT of states if this thing blows. #collapse

Along with the earthquakes in Oklahoma and Mauna Loa coming back to life, it sounds like the North American plate is acting up.

If Yellowstone did blow it would be of epic Revelation proportions. The damage would most likely kill people in very large numbers in multiple states.
If it blows, it will be a double catastrophe, because the muslim community organizer will have no idea how to respond, and he won't care anyway.
When I grew up in the Delta, we use to roll sticks in the road to make tomahawks.
