What movie should have had a sequel?
Posted on 07/12/2014 8:29:26 PM PDT by MNDude
Most of the times, it is better off if the sequel to a movie was not made. There are probably a few movies that would have been nice to have one. Which movie(s) do you think should have had a sequel?

I never go to movies any more (the smell...OMG), but I would consider it for sequels to ‘Remo Williams’ (The Destroyer would have been a better title) and ‘Buckaroo Banzai’...a movie that was too cool for ordinary people. :-)

Samuel Jackson and the Rock running around NY creating havoc.
Oh! Of course, yeah, that would be hilarious.

CAPTAIN FROM CASTILLE. They stop short of the Conquest, which is the whole point.

I wouldn't mind seeing a remake of The Birds, but this one actually keeping with Daphne du Maurier's short story.
Those who have not read it give it a go. You'll love it.

Prescient!
The 1997 film is set in a United States in which foreign immigration has skyrocketed:
The mayor of Los Angeles speaks only in Spanish, Rhode Island is populated mostly by Chinese-Americans, and Alabama has a congressman from India.
Politics is openly reduced to a matter of catering to various ethnic groups for their votes - the Alabama congressman will only support the president if his state receives more money for Hindu temples. When an atomic weapon is used in Pakistan,
an international organization makes plans to bring orphans to Idaho.

Never caught that. At least they never mentioned it or featured it.
I like the movie for sure.

I would have loved to have seen more Guy Ritchie gangster films after the trilogy of Lock Stock, Snatch, and Rocknrolla, but I guess theres more money in Sherlock Holmes sequels. There were 7 episodes of a Lock Stock tv show (including a pilot movie).

Why do they always remake good movies? Why can’t they take the time to remake a BAD movie and make it better?

I agree with your post at 179.
For example, Tom Hanks is a favorite actor of mine but, he is a ideological moron. After he did the Divinci Code I never have watched him again.
Never even went to that movie.
