The heroes and zeroes of the presidential elections I've voted in.
Heroes: Reagan, Bush Sr, Dole, Bush Jr, McCain, Romney
Zeroes: Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama
The pattern is obvious! Hoping and praying that it goes republican in 2016. I've not just voted for but campaigned for every hero on the entire list!
Well, we’ll see.
Won’t we...
Heroes: Reagan
Meh: Bush Sr, Dole, Bush Jr
Zeroes: Carter, Mondale, Dukakis, Clinton, Gore, Kerry, Obama, McCain, Romney
Fixed it for you.
Ted Kennedy Big Zero
Drunk, communist, killer.
The only hero for 2016: Ted Cruz.
Heroes...?
True. Reagan is the only hero of the bunch.
Welcome to Free Republic.
This is not a GOP site.
Read this.
Statement by the founder of Free Republic: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1103363/posts
Yes, the quality of the GOP candidates has worsened with every cycle after 1984. From great, to mediocre, to indistinguishable from the rodents (lying, malignant narcissists with impeccable leftist credentials).
Relatively, anyone and anyone is a “hero” when compared to any DIMocRAT.
Not the last two nominees. Ringers, both.
They aren't heroes in a political sense, as being consistent leaders of the conservative cause, although each was right on some issues and not nearly as bad as their Democratic counterpart. The first Bush, for example, selected Clarence Thomas for the Supreme Court. We might not have had 9/11 if Dole had been President instead of Clinton from 1997 to 2001, and we wouldn't have Obamacare if McCain had won in 2008. Even our duds are much better than the alternatives.
You got it just right, FMDJ.
In a perfect world, this would have ended the thread.
An “R” behind the name doesn’t automatically make the person the good guy. The GOP is largely as traitorous as the Democrats.
I have friends who refuse to see that there’s a huge difference between Republicans and conservatives.
As for Romney, he’s a hero only to those who share his love of abortion and queers.
How is this not a GOP site?
Quoting this paragraph from the founder I agree entirely! I have spent decades advocating for these things.
“As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.”
I’m not kidding. I’m totally with the GOP! I’m totally against the democrats!
Reagan against Carter
Reagan against Mondale
Bush Sr against Dukakis
Bush Sr against Clinton
Dole against Clinton
Bush Jr against Gore
Bush Jr against Kerry
McCain against Obama
Romney against Obama
I vigorously campaigned for the republican against the democrat every time! I don’t always get my first choice in the primary but in the general I always campaign for the winner of the GOP primary.
In 2016 I’d prefer a Ted Cruz over a Chris Christie in the primary. That said I will vigorously campaign for the GOP nominee no mater who it is.
In a general election it’s R vs D and I will take the R every time! There is no comparison.
