Tommy Ramone, a co-founder of the seminal punk band the Ramones and the last surviving member of the original group, has died, a business associate said Saturday.
Dave Frey, who works for Ramones Productions and Silent Partner Management, said Ramone died on Friday. Frey didn't have additional details. Ramone born Erdelyi Tamas in Budapest, Hungary was 65.
Tommy Ramone, a drummer, co-founded the Ramones in 1974 in New York along with singer Joey Ramone, bassist DeeDee Ramone and guitarist Johnny Ramone. The band members weren't related and had different last names, but took the common name Ramone.
The Ramones influenced a generation of rockers, and their hit songs "I wanna be sedated" and "Blitzkrieg Bop," among others, earned them an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002.

lot of cancer in that family
Wow, they all died young.
Love the Ramones..never got to see them live.
lot of cancer in that(Music) family
Dee Dee, in his books, expressed resentment towards Tommy for having it "together" more than anyone else in the band, being able to cook himself dinner and organize his life in a much more functional manner, without the psychosis or addiction problems that Dee Dee himself suffered from. In contrast to everyone else in the band, Tommy was seemingly "normal,"
Saw the Ramones once, long ago.

10 yrs old! CBGB’s..all the talent that got their start there. Would’ve loved to have been a fly on the wall during the early years.

40 years on and some still claim not to have heard of this band.
Lucky enough to seem them twice. The first show was mosh pit heaven. The second show was full of wanna be’s who thought it was uncool to just let your hair down and head bang. My fave GOP band.
My first show for the Ramones was when I was 13, and my pothead uncle was the bouncer so he snuck me in.
Never particularly cared for their music.
RIP guys. Thanks!
RIP
too bad they all died, and now tommy.
but seriously, weren’t the ramones just really really awful as a band? i mean really? unlistenable.
I did. Couldn’t hear for 2 days. Loud and one of my favorite concert memories.
