Musk ox invasion keeps Nome wildlife managers busy
Anchorage Daily News ^ | comJuly 2, 2014 | SEAN DOOGAN

Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Texas, under heavy border pressure from the south and an oppresive governance via the Council, didn’t expect to wake ee two odd things that morning.
One, the live video feed of 1600 PA Ave oval office showed a rabbit sitting in the high back chair and gravely addressing the nation.
Two, apparently Texas also woke to find they had border security on the southern side.
Albeit a little...twitch eared.
Discussions raged for days until it was announced the border security was being handed over to the...Republic of Texas.
Howls and shrieks among the press and politicians alike flooded the aiirwaves.
As did images of politicians unceremoniously being javelin tossed by bipedal rabbits while various onlookers laughed.

I'll see your cute Kitty, and raise you a little boy puppy.

How is everyone doing?

Our 5 puppies are 6 weeks old, full of energy, and I haven't slept through the night since they were born.

They can't go to their new homes for another 2 weeks. Sleep. I want sleep.

Finally checking in. What a day. I had to pay for the x-rays, then there were three prescriptions at Walmart instead of one, and the day just kept going downhill.

Busdaddy came over and wanted me to go with him to the computer store. I hadn’t had any water since I left home, so I had to buy a bottle before too much time lapsed. Then he wanted me to go home with him while he ate, then he wanted to go to Cox to get a router so he could set up his new iPad, and that took over an hour.

Then he wanted to wait another hour so he could check with the computer store on the way home. Meantime, I missed my noon pills, then spent a good 30 minutes trying to get my breathing under control before we left to come here.

Unnngh day is right.

At least I am home. I had to get an Arby’s to make it through the afternoon, but he paid for it. When I did get home, my order from iherb.com was here, so that made me feel better. My kidneys have been bothering me the last couple of days and it’s because I was out of kidney pills.

I was almost shaking when I added the needed pills to my pill container. So now, I will begin to feel better. :o])

I started Weight Watchers a little over three weeks ago, and as of now, the weight loss is 14#.

I broke my left foot. My arthritic neck is paralyzing my arms. I’m going to have surgery on my feet to remove the pins in my toes.

I survived the monsoons. I wish you would visit! LOL!

Busdaddy’s house was broken into six weeks ago and the thieves absconded with $5000 worth of electronics and two handguns.

And that’s the stuff that’s been happening in ‘Face’s house!

Vivid summary! I’ve survived another evening of Loud Children, and I’m about to go to bed, as soon as I add a cup of milk to my online tracker.

I beat Pat at arm wrestling.

I haven’t arm wrestled in close to fifty years, but I bet even I could beat Pat at arm wrestling ... this year.

...I beat Pat at arm wrestling.

LOL! Back in The Day, I used to win drinks at the local VFW club by arm wrestling. Until I got sick, it was always difficult for anyone to judge my weight, and therefore, they could never gauge my strength.

Since I worked in a small Greyhound agency, I had to handle the package express as well as the ticket counter, and I got so I could lift 100# over my head.

So when I went to the VFW, I was totally unfair...I used to arm wrestle the guys who came in from surrounding areas, and win. I think there was only ever one that was a tie, but no one was able to beat me. Ahhhhh.....youth!

I was surprised that Pat gave me a good effort. Frank was pretty wimpy, and Kathleen just held my hand and giggled.

It hasn’t been that long for me, but I’ll bet I couldn’t beat Pat...

Pat is stronger than he looks. It’s impossible for anyone to be as weak as Pat looks and still be walking around.

I’m going to type in Tom’s password, and then I’m going to bed ... so if any bizarre posts turn up under my name before 5:30 EDT, it wasn’t me: it was either Tom or Jake.

I’m happy you lost the 14#, but I’m sorry you went through all the other stuff. :-(

I have deposits on 2 of them from really nice families. I’ve had to turn some college age kids away.

I have to go eat supper and then take them out.

Hope everything is going well at the T-C household!

Good night everyone!

Most of Pat sits just off from our reality, hidden in what NnB and I refer to as “n_space”.
