Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

I loathed that song when it came out and I loathe it today.
But your voice is in fine fettle today, ArGee!
Do you like salmon? Walmart has frozen salmon fillets in 2-lb. or 5-lb. bags. I cook them in my lemon-infused olive oil and eat them with spinach.
Got any 2s? What’s with you, lately? You’re getting the same triple digit numbers in surprising quantities!
I have been known to eat salmon, but mostly canned, made into salmon loaf. I don’t know how to cook it fresh or frozen.
Maybe next time I have money I’ll check it out, since Walmart is the only place I can afford to buy food. So tips on cooking salmon would be greatly appreciated!
My last tally showed I had three points left for the day. And I just had some watermelon, which I don’t really care for, but it’s good for a change. Tomorrow, I’ll break up the head of lettuce I bought. The pre-cut salad mixes go bad too quickly, so I’m going to improvise. Going back to what my momma taught me!
If find the heads of lettuce last much longer than the salad bags. Those have to be eaten in two days, or they’re slime.
And I can’t eat that much lettuce in two days. So I’m going back to buying the heads.
I’m about ready to call it a night. My side is aching a little so I’ll go have a breathing treatment and take some Ibuprofen and then curl up with a good book.
Or an eDebice.
So I’ll sign off for the night. The barometer is telling my why my right ankle is swollen and painful, so I’m better off in bed. See ya tomorrow!
I hope you have a good night. I’d like to be going to bed, too, but too many kids are still up.
Pat wants to do math now.
Don’t worry, darlin’! We’ve been praying nonstop! The power of prayer! I thank the Lord that I have the privilege of praying for and with these people!
Oh! I just remembered!
I thought of a new tag line today.
Clever.
I want it to go viral with a certain age group.
If I hear a ten-year old telling me this story a year from now, I will have succeeded in changing the world.
.
Take that, Barry!
So the second of three is located... film at Eleven. Or more likely when I get home...
Your dad kept good company.
Amen Sg, Amen.
Morning T-c. Morning Everyone. Please excuse me whilst get me one of those ... naps.
You’re excused. See you in the daytime!
Head still on shoulders.
Not thinking straight, but up is still up.
Looks like it will be a good day.
Beautifully done! What a talented man your dad was.
It’s moroning.
And morning as well. It was a painful night, and I’m still having problems breathing from the pain in my ribs. I tried not to take so many Ibuprofen but I see now that it wasn’t such a good idea.
Now I have to go fix my pills for the next five days...
See y’all in a bit.
Howya! We had a thunderstorm last night. The lawn really needed it.
Now I’m going to work on paragraph-writing with the byos.
