Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.
Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

Amen to THAT, trisham! *clapping*
Thank you, Monkey Face. :)

Yes, it was.
LOL!
Thanks for noticing! :o])
Busdaddy is now at the anger stage, so that is good. He has accepted the break-in and is ready to move on. He had a guy in yesterday from ADT, and with my AAA coverage, he got a discount. Perhaps now, he will get AAA for himself, since they are the only road service I have seen that will take care of a dually and a trailer.
He is learning, but he is one of those people who needs reassurance with each change. I suspect his open-heart surgery has a lot to do with that.
At any rate, he depends on me, and that is scary...what if I can’t be there when he thinks I should? I’m almost seven years older than he is...
I DON’T WANNA BE A MOM!!!
Unfortunately, people who want a mom recognize people who will take up the job, no matter how reluctantly.
Is ADT his insurer?
ADT is a national alarm monitoring service. They will set up motion detectors, and entry alarms and monitor the premises to see if there are anomalies. With Busdaddy’s phone and mine, there should never ever be another break-in. They will even transfer service to a new residence at no cost.
Because I come in the front door, and he comes and goes through the garage, we both need “keypads.”
I am excited for him to sign the contract...
He would have done it yesterday, I’m sure, but he was still in the throes of being a victim. And that hurt my heart.
And FYI...I recognize that I am a giver and most people are takers, so there isn’t much I can do about telling Busdaddy to grow up.
I will always be a Mom, and there will always be someone who needs a Mom. Some days, it’s really an ugly job. Other days, it’s quite rewarding!
Tomorrow, I will buy some Cardboardaux! I NEED it!
I’m going to check with Netflix to see if “Father Brown” is available. That is such a low-key mystery series...I’m always surprised at the “villain.”
And with that, I’m off to bed.
He was swimming in Lake Erie? If so, that explains Toledo's poisoned water supply...
Have a good night!
New horror film
“It came from Toledo”
No, Geron L, it either came from Chicago or it came from Searchlight, but either way, America is DOOMED until Patriots take over the government!
And we start at FreeRepublic!
It must be morning. But if it is, why is it still dark outside?
Rain today, they say...
It’s light here. The byos and I are planning food and activities for the week.
84 and 49%. Overcast. Ungh.
Maybe I’ll go sort through my spilled pills and put together a handful this morning.
I’m not feeling all that well, and I’m sure it’s the stress of the break-in. It always takes a few days to catch up with me.
I’ve got the planning done, and I’ve picked out music for a service on Tuesday. The children and I will be back at church several times today, organizing different things and promoting the Cub Scouts.
I’ll take them out to lunch. Tomorrow’s Extra Fun Thing is the Lego Store.
One never has enough Legos!
I’m going to watch a movie, I think. It’s a good excuse for going back to bed, and this morning, I need it.
