Musk ox invasion keeps Nome wildlife managers busy
Anchorage Daily News ^ | comJuly 2, 2014 | SEAN DOOGAN

Nome is used to rowdy residents, but some relatively new transplants are making a real nuisance of themselves -- although unlike the colorful characters of the early 20th century gold rush days, these visitors have four legs, not two.

Musk oxen are wandering into the city on the Seward Peninsula, and despite loud noises, water hoses and even a blow-up bear coated in ursine urine, they don't want to leave.

It’s raining in Charlotte.

As it is many other places north of there - like here.

Right now though the radar shows the Philly/Camden area is getting a thorough washing.

Unfortunately, unless someone flew over and sprayed detergent/vermincide over the area, it will remain just a washing instead of the much needed clensing.. ;-)

He says, you need a VCR, connection-wires, and a computer with the software to do the DVD encoding. You do not need to hook it up to a TV.

I’ve reminded him that he was going to teach a teenager to do this, and then I would pay said child a piecework rate to copy tapes to DVD. I’d really like to have my “Moody Science” videos on DVD. A guy in a suit does science experiments and talks about the Bible; the kids really like them.

He’s saved some videos in a form that you can pull up on the tv using the Roku box or the DVD player, but it all confuses me terribly, and you can rarely find all the remotes.

Kathleen just gave her food to Jake. She’s so generous.

Pork roast. Jake took some off to a corner to munch. He has bad teeth.

It is, but try explaining that to a 2-year-old. They eat in a completely random fashion.

We also have potato salad and the Cuban Bean Dish.

Pork roast most certainly is suitable cat food.

Cat is pleased you thought of him. He'd hunt Pig himself if Pig was not so darn big. Cat thanks you for your Pighunting skills from his gnawing corner... ;-)

Sometimes I have to hunt with a credit card, but we have actual money in the bank right now.

If you touch the hoodless man, he’ll stab you in the abdomen, man.

And steal your wallet. Duh.

Speaking of nothing we have talked about...

You're not that far from Winston-Salem. Ever been to this place?

If so, how's the food...

Nope, never been there. I stopped at an Arby’s in Winston-Salem once, on the way to Durham. It was crowded and dirty, but conveniently near the Interstate, and we needed to eat.
