CNSNews.com) Duck Dynasty matriarch Marsha Kay Robertson said her oldest son, Alan, was born out of wedlock, two years before she and Phil Robertson were legally married, and that because of this, Alan Robertson says, Yeah, I would be the B[astard] in the family.
Alan Robertson, who has been married to his wife Lisa for 29 years, is a Christian minister and he also now stars in the popular reality-TV show Duck Dynasty, with his other family members and relatives.
Kay Robertson, or Miss Kay, disclosed the details about her marriage and Alans out-of-wedlock birth in a special edition of US Weekly magazine, published on Monday, June 30.
Miss Kay reveals that when she was 16, in 1964, she made a vow to God and to Phil Robertson, but this was an informal ceremony, not a legal marriage.

It’s a great show.
Why can’t we use the correct term, “bastard”, anymore?
(I know, I know... we’re not to shame anyone for sexual choices.)
But what they miss is the message that as humans we are not perfect, sinners, but seek to embrace & live a God inspired life.
Sounds like the bastard has a sense of humor. :)
(Isn’t that how they talk down there? Seinfeld reference.)
But they certainly aren't. Phil never shirks away from acknowleging the unregnerate lifestyle he lived before finding the Lord.
Good thing for Alan, Ms Kay is of a very different mind-set!
I was born Feb. 1965 seven months after my parents were married in July 1964. She was 17 and my Dad was 19.
Very good!
She chose life
Amen and amen.
I’ll bet He has A REAL BIRTH CERTIFICATE...
Unlike some we know.
And only 1 SS#
Obviously the Libtards will call ‘em hypocrites.
The libtards hate them for not getting an abortion.
I gotta ask...where was the state/gummint when God brought Eve to Adam and said, “be fruitful and multiply”?.
What specific “rite” was performed to recognize Adam & Eve as “married”.
hmmmm?
Maybe there was some objective interaction between Adam, Eve and God that would...ahem...consummate...such a “cojoining unto marriage”?
The left would have preferred she aborted him.
She’s beautiful.
Because it’s a cruel term that denigrates the dignity of the innocent child. I will never understand the pleasure some people get out of calling a baby, whose parents were not married at his or her birth, a bastard. People who engage in reckless, careless or immoral behavior should be the one called bastards: bastard parents. When you put the shame on the child, it creates an environment where the child is unwanted and shunned. Shame can be a motivator into getting adults to do the proper thing, but it is an evil thing to shame an faultless child.
The Roberts aren’t doing anyone favors by calling their firstborn an bastard. Marriage after a child’s birth or adoption of a child by others because the parents were unmarried does not make a child “illegitimate.” I also will never understand why some view children of divorce as an acceptable casualty of the modern world, but “illegitimate” children can be reviled for what they have no control over. Address the comments to the parents, not the children.
re>Why cant we use the correct term, bastard, anymore?
Could it be that certain races have 70% out of wedlock?
I don’t care what anyone did as long as they truly repented. Liberals don’t understand what repentance is.
