Need help ID'ing a country song
Posted on 06/30/2014 4:44:51 PM PDT by ru4liberty
My former co-worker just called me for help in naming a country music song. I don't listen to today's country music that much, so I couldn't help her, but I'm sure one of my FReeper FRiends can.
She said the song had something in the lyrics about grandma having dementia or Alzheimer's and having to refer back to 1942(ish) for something she can remember. Or something like that.
Does anyone know what song that might be and who the artist is?
TIA. :)

I went from Texas to Oregon many years ago, too, and then stayed there 40 years. Almost ten years ago, I went back to Texas to take care of my dad, until he died a few years afterward.
What part of Oregon was your grandmother in? I was in the Portland area.

Lovely story. You made me cry. Missing my mother—gone since 2007. She would have been 102 on June 22.
Hugs to you in your grief. Prayers.
