JACKSON, Miss. A 3-year-old girl who was attacked by pit bulls in April was asked to leave a Jackson restaurant because her scars scared customers, the girl's grandmother told 16 WAPT News.
"Does this face look scary to you?" accompanied a picture of Victoria Wilcher on the Facebook page Victoria's Victories, which documents the child's recovery from the attack at her grandfather's home in Simpson County. Authorities said one of Donald Mullins' dogs ripped open the back door and jumped on the girl. Two other dogs dragged her into the back yard and began mauling her, investigators said.
"The right side of her face is paralyzed. She's got a lot of surgeries to go through and she won't even look in the mirror anymore," said Victoria's grandmother, Kelly Mullins. "When we go to a store, she doesn't even want to get out (of the car). She's 3 years old and she's embarrassed about what she looks like. She's embarrassed and I hate it because she shouldn't be. It ain't her fault."

Every one of these cases could be avoided if people kept control of their animals.
Pit bulls are not naturally mean dogs. If they are mean it’s because some human made them so. “Pete” from “Our Gang” was a pit bull. They are loving dogs until made to be mean.
After taking whatever corrective action is necessary at that facility, KFC should do everything they can to get that family to come back and should have some kind of special day for that little girl. She needs lots of affirmation now. The mother needs to figure out ways to ignore the negative and simply and continuously treat her little daughter like she’s the most beautiful thing on the planet.
What an awful story! The scars will heal but this poor little girl may keep this in her mind and be ashamed of her face for her whole life.
I know someone who, even tho’ a birth defect has been fixed she still feels like she looks the same.
I would love to see a pic of the employee that asked them to leave ..... I am sure that won’t happen.
Here is my response and what I was responding to.
Why do people keep these dangerous animals? They need to be exterminated for the public good. Its as dangerous as keeping lions as pets.
My response: Time to put on your big girl pants and get over your liberal "feelings rule everything" attitude.
Nothing was said about controlling the animals. The comment was about exterminating them.
I have little tolerance for candy a$$#$ that allow their emotions to rule over them.
She’s a beautiful little girl and her scars (which are not that bad now) cannot hide her pretty smile.
Sounds like KFC is trying some CYA. I remember working as a special ed teacher taking the “students” out for an occasional hamburger it was a “big deal” to them but we were yelled at and kicked out of a few places over the years for doing nothing more than sitting down. It can be a rough world sometimes. Also, some proprietors never think further than the “day’s receipts”.
Sorry Morgana, but there is something in the genetic makeup of pit bulls that makes them prone to vicious behavior. You don’t see Golden Retrievers mauling children and there are a lot more Golden Retrievers around than Pit Bulls.
Almost invariably when you read about a child being mauled by a dog, there is a pit bull involved.
Don’t try to tell us that Pit Bulls are naturally gentle creatures. They are cats in dog clothing. They are natural born killers with no conscience.
If I owned that restaurant and a customer made that “complaint” to me, I would have very subtly, very firmly told them to get the hell out and never darken my door again.
What this restaurant did to a fragile child...I remember something I read once about a millstone.
Tell it to the little girl my FRiend.

Seems to be dumb people on both sides - one, it is obviously the grandparents for having such animals around children...that can be blamed FIRST...and second, if KYC employee did ask for this little girl to leave - then stupidity apparently reins in that area...
Unbelievable - I hope the decent community down there does the right thing from this point on...
The same people who can't keep control of their husbands, wives, or children ?
Possibly true.
However, it is indisputable that pit bulls were bred for aggressiveness and fighting spirit, just as retrievers were bred to instinctively retrieve and border collies were bred to herd.
Saying that pit bulls are not inherently more dangerous for this reason than other breeds is tantamount to claiming that retrievers and border collies don’t have innate tendencies it is very difficult to train out.
There should be one restraint out of business of one more addition to the unemployment line. Perhaps both.
And the actual perp should be made to leave town due to an ongoing case of unemployability.
Aso for the Pit bull thing... I gotta say my views are ‘evolving’. A basset Hound is a pet. A pit Bull is a tool for a job. One does not play with dangerous tools like chainsaws either.
I would agree with that. People should think about animal breeding and what that means.
Go back 100 years -- were horses fast? Well, yeah ... but not as fast as today. We've bred thoroughbreds to be very, very fast. The downside is that they tend to be fragile. Maybe not all thoroughbreds are fragile, but there are many examples of top horses that were very fast and damaged themselves because of it. We bred the horses to be fast and we have to accept the downside.
Pit bulls are the same way. Were they dangerous 100 years ago? Well, yeah: they were capable of handling bulls ... but they weren't as crazy as they are today. Pit bulls became a very popular breed, in part, because unsavory people liked 'em. They were bred fast (always a bad thing) and they were (often) bred because they were relentlessly violent. Some people liked them that way.
Not all thoroughbreds are fragile.
Not all pit bulls are crazy.
But you have to look at the intentional breeding, and you have to recognize that the genetic predisposition in 2014 is that the same as the genetic predisposition in 1900.
I call baloney on this. Grandmas out to make a buck. I find it utterly impossible that a restaurant would ask someone to leave because they look scary...especially a little girl. Likely what REALLY happened is that grandma pitched a fit for some reason and was asked to leave.
The focus of this story is all wrong.
The focus of this story should be on the idiot grandfather who owned the pitbulls that did that to his granddaughter.
