Of course it is a challenge for any modern national leader, to stand tomorrow on the beaches of Normandy and recall the greatest days and martial triumphs of World War II.
The comparison is obvious and embarrassing, between the giants and the pygmies: Churchill and Cameron, Hollande and de Gaulle, above all Franklin Roosevelt and Barack Obama.
This week, however, at the D-Day Commemoration, Americas representative will be a man who has disappointed his nation and its allies as have few presidents in modern times.
In 2014, at least Britains prime minister and Frances president must bear responsibility only for their own countries.
But the President of the United States is the standard-bearer for the global cause of freedom, commander-in-chief of the principal might of the forces of democracy
This week, however, at the D-Day Commemoration, Americas representative will be a man who has disappointed his nation and its allies as have few presidents in modern times.
From the moment of his first inauguration in January 2009, he was expected to be a healer rather than a warrior. But nobody, not even his foremost Republican foes, believed that halfway through his second term of office, Obama would be giving the world a convincing impersonation of a marshmallow.

there is no word in the English language to really describe what a lowlife piece of guano i think that obozo really is.
Of course he is...a pygmy when compared to Roosevelt, when compared to Truman and he was too small to even be seen when compared to Churchill.Maybe *that’s* why he has such a special contempt for Sir Winston.
Well actually if you read the war record of FDR you might .....
obozo isn’t worthy to tie the boot of even one of the young, brave American soldiers who hit the beach at Normandy on D-Day.
Obama is lower than the snail crap that those brave men stepped in when they were taking the beachheads.

The succession of Democrat presidents is like the March of Progress in reverse, with Thomas Jefferson striding tall and proud at the beginning and Bill and Barry capering around at the present.
Isn't that racist?
“Obama is a pygmy compared with the wartime leader Roosevelt”
Are you kidding me? That’s an insult to pygmy’s everywhere.
Well, actually, I’m not a big fan of FDR. He absolutely LOVED Uncle Joe Stalin, and gave him everything he wanted, including Eastern Europe.
We could have defeated Hitler without letting Stalin take everything instead.
Why not just go ahead and call him a monkey?
He shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near this commemoration. He is a disgrace.
See my tagline for a long article on the New Deal (”The Revolution Was”). Everything FDR did, Obama is doing the same thing to complete the socialist agenda.
I agree with you. And you can trace it back further, to Teddy Roosevelt and Woodrow Wilson.
How the Second World War went wrong—no fault of the troops who fought it—is laid out pretty clearly in Evelyn Waugh’s “Sword of Honour” trilogy.
Bother are/were pompous asses.
Both are racist.
Both think/thought that they/the government know better than anybody how your money should be spent
Both will gladly trample over the law and the Constitution to do whatever they want to do.
I call him the Worm. It seems to fit him well - partially Grima Wormtongue, partially no spine, partially blindly questing for relevance, and a pun on some FReeper’s habit of calling him the Won.
It is a bit of an unfair name. Worms are actually useful in real life
By the time Allied troops landed at Normandy there were 10 million Red Army soldiers cutting through the best of what was left the Wermacht as the Eastern front collapsed upon the Reich...cold hard fact...I doubt we could have had our way with the Nazis short of nuclear attack on German cities...
Roosevelt should have been declared unfit for office before the elections of 1944.
Obunghole is a pygmy compared to a pygmy.
