George Takei said he needed courage and anger to come out as gay and to join the equal rights movement for sexual minorities in the U.S., and he hopes his Japanese counterparts will do the same to make their society more equal.
Takei said he has noticed a movement beginning in Japan, though the country of his ancestry has a long way to go. He said Japanese people need to fight for their own rights and they need to be a bit angry, too. [ ]
Takei, 77, is in Japan to attend embassy-organized events marking LGBT Pride Month in the U.S. He later toasted gay rights at a reception hosted by Ambassador Caroline Kennedy attended by about 160 people, including Japan's first lady Akie Abe.

Sounds like someone named George Takei doesn’t know Manga/Anime, which has had homosexual characters for a long time. Heck, they’re generally given a good showing when they do show up in a Japanese Presentation. I have no idea what he is talking about.
What exactly is there to be proud about, being gay? All the diseases and medical afflictions that come with it? All the mental issues that come with it? The fact that the gay lifestyle is based around the concept of an orgy - sex anywhere, with anyone, anytime - explicitly NOT monogamous?
I don’t celebrate, or force others to celebrate my sexual orientation. Just because my orientation is normal and the vast majrotiy of people share it doesn’t mean that equates to “forcing it” on others. that’s just living life.
Oh...I think he goes where many men have gone before. As does his ‘husband’.
He’s probably talking about homosexual marriage. Japan does not allow homosexual marriage. That has become the holy grail to the homosexual activists.
“Stonewall Rebellion” —a bunch of gay guys got really mad about mistreatment of gays, right? Nope:
This bar was actually a “Bottle Club” for regulatory reasons —you don’t have to have two exits for a bottle club and you don’t have to have running water, either.
This meant the glasses they really were using got very perfunctory washes —almost nothing, really, and hepatitis broke out among the bottle club’s gay patrons, leaving many very angry.
Another factor was the actual primary income source of the club —not all of the customers were “out” and many of the closeted ones were men of means:
The bar was mafia-controlled and the management found it could make much more off of EXTORTING the closeted customers than from merely selling them drinks.
“Stonewall Rebellion” —mostly a LIE.

Not surprisingly, Shatner being his usual self suggested that Takei come out and get it over with earlier. He may have had a point there...
If they behaved sexually in private it’d be one thing. they parade in the streets naked and worse. They shove their sin in our faces, with police protection.
I predict the Japanese queer population will move quickly past the human gay thing, and start having sex with male robots
that simply boggles the mind.
Zappa predicted it. The First Church of Apliantology from Joe’s Garage.

Go home, George; you’re scaring the tentacle monsters.
Shatner has already come out for Hillary in 2016. Why doesn’t he encourage Ms. Pantsuit to step out of the closet and get it over with?
