I have no sense of humor, apparently. I cannot stand pranks. I think they are horrible and can be humiliating. I don’t understand the desire to play jokes on others.

Something we get to see, is how casual males accept violence, imagine if that beating were against a female, or his wife.
There was a period (probably related to some proposed law) when I used to ask males if a female had ever tried to kill them, the first reaction was always a surprised laugh and dismissal, but if I got them to relax and think about it for a minute, many of them could remember being attacked with knives and various weapons, but like most of us do they just laugh and disarm them, and look for the make up sex.

When Candid Camera did pranks, they were clever and well thought out. Today, they're just childish and unfunny. "Hey, I have an idea...let's go up to people and ask them if they want to kiss my a**, and see how they react?" Oh, that's right...that one's already been done.
