Father angrily kicks and punches his son before being told it was all a joke
He thought it was just a bit of fun and expected it to end in smiles.
But Delhi student Prateek Verma got much more than he bargained for when he told his dad his girlfriend was pregnant and filmed it.
Sunder Verma reacted angrily, punching, kicking and slapping his clearly shocked son.
But he wasn't shocked enough to stop him uploading the clip to YouTube, via his SocioCatastropheTV account.
Prateek starts by explaining the prank to his audience as he waits for his father to come home.
When Sunder comes home, Prateek tells his dad he needs to talk.
The pair sit down, Sunder clearly concerned about what his son has to say.
With his father now lying down, Prateek drops the bomb.
His father takes a few seconds to digest the information, before lashing out at his son with a kick.
He then gets up and immediately starts swinging punches, as Prateek cowers.
More kicks are unleashed...
...then more punches...
... and then two hard slaps. Sunder is clearly livid.
As he picks up a nearby bottle and prepares to use it, Prateek reveals it is all just a prank.
He moves in and tries to hug his father to say sorry...
...before gesturing to the camera to cut as he dad storms off.
More than 1.1 million people have watched the video on YouTube.
See the full video here:
It’s a youtube fad. Daughters do it too.
Stupid socialist networking media...
I have no sense of humor, apparently. I cannot stand pranks. I think they are horrible and can be humiliating. I don’t understand the desire to play jokes on others.
Dad should have said, in response to having the video uploaded: Funny prank. Pack your stuff and move out — you are on your own. And no, this is NOT a prank.
THAT would have be freaking HILARIOUS.
I believe you get punched and kicked even harder for saying that as a joke. Or you should.
That’s what’s wrong with the world, there are people that think this crap is funny, rap is music and obama is straight.
That’s a good kick that dad gave.
??
It isn't clear from the text whether the son is telling the dad that the dad's girlfriend is pregnant, or that the son's girlfriend is pregnant.
Not quite the subject that a father would like to be “pranked” about. Wonder what the “son” was trying to prove.
He meant that the son’s girlfriend was pregnant.
Here’s the follow up video after the a-—kicking.

This has the appearance of being staged.
It was an honest reaction to an unplanned pregnancy. Indian culture is very big on marriage and it’s an incredible dishonour to be unmarried, male or female.

WHAM!!!
"But, Dad, ..."
OK, a teeny bit better but even that doesn’t rise to the level of half-wit.
Something we get to see, is how casual males accept violence, imagine if that beating were against a female, or his wife.
There was a period (probably related to some proposed law) when I used to ask males if a female had ever tried to kill them, the first reaction was always a surprised laugh and dismissal, but if I got them to relax and think about it for a minute, many of them could remember being attacked with knives and various weapons, but like most of us do they just laugh and disarm them, and look for the make up sex.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
The Intentional Infliction of Emotional Distress is a tortious offense in all 50 states... and that’s exactly what virtually all pranks are today.
