People don't treat you the way they treat you because of who you are. They treat you the way they treat you because of who they are. Sometimes the adage "treat others the way you want to be treated" really doesn't work, especially if the other person is an immature, self-centered, narcissistic jerk who thinks only of themselves and not of the consequences of their actions.
