My cat defends my son during a vicious dog attack and runs the dog off before he can do additional damage.

I saw the kid’s open wounds on his leg—it looked like ground meat. The dog was just about to violently shake the boy’s leg in his mouth and that’s when the cat showed up.
The dog was euthanized today.
Multi-camera surveillance videos, edited. No mystery here.

I’m wondering why the dog attacked the little boy. Had he been provoked? There may be a history here.
Two of our dogs, a Golden Retriever and a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel are terrified of our Himalayan cat. The Cavalier is afraid to pass her in the hall and the Golden gets past her as quickly as he can with tail tucked and shoulders scrunched, slouching to protect his nose and head. She has swatted him before.The Cavalier just sits and barks for us to come rescue him. She’s swatted him in the past as well.
The cat recognizes her power and does she ever abuse it. Sometimes she bops them while other times she rubs lovingly all over them just to see them cringe in anticipation of the swat, which she doesn’t always deliver. Gotta keep them guessing, ;) We tell them they could take her, but they’re cowards, especially the 80lb Golden.
the reason they have surveillance is because the little boy is mildly autistic and they use the video cameras to watch him since everyday he enjoys being on his little scooter. Tara the cat is super brave..Id vote for that cat..TARA FOR PRESIDENT!

Since I live in LA it was on our local news so they explained the need for the surveillance cameras..the mother, who was watering her plants, had no idea that Tara had jumped in to save the day til her husband showed her the video..that is one heroic cat!! Tara deserves extra pets, toys, and of course yarn for her heroic act(I have two dogs so not really familiar with the gifts you would give a cat)
The dog loses every time in these circumstances and sort of attack on a child.
That dog needs to die
Chows are the Chinese version of a Pit Bulls. Too bad the Lab portion of that dog couldn’t have kicked in, because now it’s dead.
Lots of low IQ types on youtube who think it was not the dogs fault, and it should not be put down.
