If you don't shower much - but generally keep that information to yourself because of the negative stigma - you're not alone. Following hot on the heels of the no-shampooing hair care revolution, some folks are taking the logical next step: If no or reduced shampooing results in healthier, shinier hair, what about skipping soaping up the body? Unlike the modified hair-washing schedule, which tends to elicit commentary about shampoos and parabens, conditioners and hair-drying time, skipping showers altogether seems to bring up plenty of other opinions on the subject. Many people who do shower every day think that not doing so is inherently wrong and unhealthy. It's assumed that people who don't shower on the regular are stinky and/or greasy and maybe even visibly dirty - and it certainly can't be good for you.

I remember having to drag my two preteen sons into the shower. Now that they are grown you can’t get them out of it. They both take long showers.
Showering in the morning gets the sleep funk off of you. It wakes me up in the morning and helps me face the day.
Okay.
Shower everyday or you will attract critters.
I watched a gossip show called TMZ. One of the guys that works there says he does not wash his long hair for up to 2 weeks!!!
He wears it up in a knot or wears one of those knit caps. Yeck!
I shower every day where I leave the house. Bad smells are bad for business.
After time in the Navy, where showers— while not always a premium, on small ships you may have to resort to none, ‘warm’ or even salt water showers for as long as you were at sea.
Ships could/would make their own water but it was scarce at times more often than not.
Of course the ‘reasoning’ being it wasn’t so bad because your ‘neighbor’ stunk just as bad as you did.
Remember an old quip (Sure there are many variations but this is the gist):
“BY THE TIME YOU CAN SMELL YOURSELF, THOSE AROUND YOU HAVE BEEN SMELLING YOU FOR A WHILE LONGER”.
Ihamadinnerjacket looks like he smells bad.
LOL!
That is a question best answered by one standing next to you
If this takes off, next will come a rise in body lice, midges and other skin diseases and parasites that only went into decline when we had regular use of soap and water.
Nothing (well, almost nothing) beats a hot shower . . . that is, if you actually work for a living.
When I was young, I needed to shampoo every day. Usually showered daily too, and in the hot summer, 2x’s per day.
Now that I am older, it really is not necessary to shower daily, so it is 2 or 3 times a week - except when summer is here, I may require daily. Also, if doing yard work, it makes a difference too.
Common sense rules here.
They found out about women. Have 4 sons. Pre teen/early teen years it was a battle to get all but the oldest to shower (Oldest was always a neatnick) Once they realized that girls might be fun to hang around with, they showered daily without a peep out of me.
I do have a theory that the only reason men shower is because of the chance of spending time with a woman. Otherwise, maybe once a week for the guys.
Unless you farm or live in a filthy city, what dirt do you pick up all day?
That sounds about right.
ALWAYS shower after sex.
Uh, yeah,makes much more sense!
Bad news: you may think it's not necessary to shower daily, but it still is. You may not be aware of it because olfactory acuity declines as we age, which means we can't smell things as well. Unfortunately, at the same time our innate stinkiness increases as we age, too. You may be offending those who are younger and have more sensitive noses, especially females (since females in general and pre-menopausal females in particular have more sensitive noses than males do).
