Amy Farrah Fowler amuses me the most. The actress in the role, Mayim Bialik, is actually fairly attractive, startling as that may seem. She has absolutely become the dumpy, sexually frustrated smart girl, and just inhabits the role so completely that I can’t imagine anyone else doing it. Bernadette’s pretty funny at times, too.
Not too sure about that.
His science has been 100% pure bunk since he ran into Pope John Paul II, because he’s been obsessed with disproving the Big Bang Theory (ironic, huh?)
I dunno about that. Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s Seasons 5 and 6 were positively Christian, but Season 7 was just one big anti-Christian tampon commercial.

A lesser used running gag: there's been a couple of episodes where Bernadette starts screeching in a voice uncomfortably similar to that of Howard's mother.
Which explains (as if further explanation was necessary) why Leonard was driven mad by Sheldon’s conditioning of Penny.

Not quite a running gag, but worthy of note:
Three regulars from Roseanne became at least recurring characters on BBT.
Leslie Winkle was Darlene Connor, Rosanne’s daughter.
Leonard was Darlene’s boyfrield-then-husband, who lived with the Connors.
Ms. Cooper was Roseanne’s sister.
I LOVE it when she does that. (My wife would do that before Bernadette even started.)

The Penny/Leonard relationship strikes me as an homage to Revenge of the Nerds where Lewis wins over the head cheerleader with his technique. After one encounter with Penny, Leonard admits: “I googled how to do that.”
Mrs. Rightsmart works with young adults like Sheldon. She says this show portrays the character perfectly. She has even used clips of the show to show her students how not to behave in social situations.
Another is Leonard’s complete cowardice and pride.
I love the show but can’t stand him. Take Leonard out of the show and it would improve by his absence.
I could go on and describe all his character flaws but I don’t want to bore anyone like Sheldon does.
