Last night in East Boston, Massachusetts, a seven-alarm fire broke out, which escalated into an eight-alarm fire. Given the lives of Boston Fire Lieutenant Edward Walsh and Boston Firefighter Michael Kennedy were so recently claimed by a nine-alarm fire in Back Bay, concern was high and news crews were quickly on the scene. They did not expect to find the the following scene
As news crews arrived, local WBZ CBS reporter Katie Brace came upon this BMW 3 Series Coupe, which was parked in front of a fire hydrant. Obviously this was dumb, and the Boston Fire Department quickly dispatched their own form of street justice. As you can see from the photos, we doubt the owner of this BMW will park in front of a hydrant again.

Beemer luck.
I read a story just like that here on FR about a decade ago.
Considering what happened at the last multiple alarm the BMW got off easy.
Didn’t ewe see this in Backdraft?
BMW - Break My Window
The hose was still kinda kinked. Not good for maximum water flow. It also creates turbulence in the water flow inside the hose, which lowers the pressure. I’m surprised they didn’t have a chain to haul it outa the way using one of the firetrucks. No time I guess.
People who think the rules don’t apply to them need to be taught a lesson.
Looks like the yuppie got a good lesson.
Q: What should you do when you see a BMW using its turn signals?
A: Report it stolen.
In a diff. part of town, Beacon Hill, John Kerry got
the city to move a fire hydrant that was in front of his townhouse
Yup. I and a bunch of fellow firefighters went to the movie together. We cheered this scene.
In Chicago, they always carry a short-coupled length of hose for this very purpose - and darn it all, it always seems to be leaky right there at the joint.
I hate it when that happens.
I’m thinking Jaws of Life on the doors or a Cutoff Saw.
If it was a smart car they could have just tipped it out of the way.
+1
I saw this in a Kurt Russell film called “Backdraft”
