An image transmitted from Mars to Earth by NASA's Curiosity rover has some alien enthusiasts seeing the (artificial) light about the possibility of life on Mars... In the last several years we have seen one or more order of magnitude increases in the numbers of digital still cameras and digital video cameras in circulation. As a result the number of documented quality UFO sightings has increased proportionally.

Oops. Somebody just explained to me that no such increase in quality sightings has actually happened. Yet another of my profound hypotheses dashed on the rocks of reality.
