Ditch Firefox and go to any other browser.

As long as Firefox/Mozilla is willing to can their conservative CEO...shouldn't we cast our vote by canning Firefox/Mozilla.

One good thing about FireFox is their uninstall program. It worked fine.

Try Pale Moon’s browser. If their current version won’t work with your XP operating system, there’s links to older versions on their site.

The likelihood of any of these tech companies NOT being far left Obamaphiles is slim to none. Since the browser is not for profit and makes no money, it won’t hurt them at all if a few thousand people stop using it.

I really like their browser. I’m used to their developer tools and like the way Firefox displays XML if that is what I need to look at.

I wonder though about an institution which caves so easily to a small number of people. What else have they kept from me because of their weird phobias?

I like it and will use it. I tried Opera and a couple of others and I didn’t like them.

Pale Moon is almost a Firefox clone.

Everything (bookmarks, themes, and extensions) was imported using the import tool download and are all working.

Thank You!

I’m now running Pale Moon and it was so easy! Thank you for the link!

I also used the migration tool and kept all of my FireFox bookmarks. (I really thought that was going to be a PITA) You guys can find it in this forum thread.

It looks like a fine choice for those using an inferior OS.

Check this out:

http://forum.palemoon.org/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=4163

“Pale Moon (and Moonchild Productions) is in no way associated or affiliated with the Mozilla Corporation or Mozilla Foundation. Pale Moon nor the developer have any ties with Mozilla, financially or otherwise. Mozilla does not benefit from people using Pale Moon.”

“On a more personal note: I do not agree with Mozilla’s management decisions, recent design decisions or the rather upsetting CEO resignation and controversy around it. Even though I personally don’t agree with the ex-CEO’s views, and understand the resistance against it and dissociation people might feel to a company with someone in a leading position actively opposing gay rights, Mozilla’s response of making him immediately resign was a display of severe lack of tolerance for different views.
I believe in freedom, respect, tolerance and choice. I will always attempt to make Pale Moon and the driving forces behind it reflect that, and will not judge anyone on their personal beliefs, so long as they respect my own.”

This statement here is in place to let people know that if they wish to abandon Mozilla products as a result of either disagreement mentioned, they can feel confident in using Pale Moon as an alternative.”

Pale Moon. Almost identical to Firefox. http://www.palemoon.org/download-ng.shtml

Just downloaded and installed it, took ten minutes total, looks like a good analogue to Firefox. Thanks!

Mozilla actually earns money from Google based on how many people land on their page with Firefox. The same goes for Yahoo, Bing....etc. The less people use their browser, the less revenue they bring in, simple as that.

Unlike a lot of other boycotts, it costs people nothing more than a couple minutes to download and install a new browser and delete Firefox and/or Thunderbird.

Yes clearly I am a troll because I think boycotts are silly.

Have only one tab open that’s at the page you want to be your home page.

Click the button that says ‘pale moon’ at the top left-hand corner.

Select ‘options’.

Select ‘options’ in the new drop down box that opens.

You can either click ‘use current pages’ or put the web address in the white bar that says ‘home page’.

Click ‘OK’

And you’re done!

Replaced Firefox with Opera 20 on three computers. Older Opera had inferior performance, but this one is smooth and fast. Slightly irritating bookmark management, but clearly faster than Firefox on my computers.

OK, thanks. One thing confusing me is this. I’ve been thinking XP is an operating system and Firefox is my browser. Is Pale Moon an operating system or a browser?

Reason I ask is XP will no longer have support and updates from Microsoft as of this coming Tuesday. Really fries me since I have three desktops and two laptops with XP.
