Very, very, very disappointing.
What has America become?
Liberal fascists’ New Commandment: Thou shalt fellate the homosexual phallus...and swallow its issue
Heh. No, though I’ve seen it. I’d leave that one alone because Takei is a “celebrity,” and they get their pictures snapped with everybody, Charles Manson if he were still free.
I follow George Takei’s Facebook because it’s one of the funniest on the internet, and I usually just hide off the political ones because he’s a gloater. I looked at the comments to this one out of curiosity, and was surprised at the level of dissent, many from homos who are not happy about this firing. Nobody is happy about this except the dyed-in-the-wool extremists.
very disappointed to hear this. I even wrote a letter in support of Eich. I guess we needed more letters.

What you don’t know is he has small children and he was getting numerous death threats over this.
We also don’t know what was happening internally at the company. The real collapse may have been behind the scenes with those originally gave him the position.
I'm not sure what you're referring to there.
The First Amendment doesn't impose a duty upon the government to defend free speech, it limits the government's ability to stifle free speech.
I wish the Mozilla guy hadn't backed down, but I don't see it as a free speech issue.
yech I hate google
You’re quite correct about what the Constitution does and doesn’t compel the government to do or not do. No argument there.
But when it comes to minorities in the workplace, the government ignores the Constitution and does all sorts of stuff it shouldn’t.
I was saying, given that the government has already far overstepped what it should do, with regard to the workplace, why can’t it at least be consistent or even-handed and defend the right of a private individual to not get fired for having an unpopular opinion and privately supporting it?
Gotcha. But I want to be able to fire my employee who shows up at work with an Obama sticker on his car or talks about how much he likes Obama at the lunch table. I can do that now.
Mark my words, this is what will continue to happen since Republicans became too afraid to stand up for natural marriage.
In 2008, Zero was for civil unions, but not marriage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6K9dS9wl7U
He supposedly believed “God was in the mix”, that marriage was “the union between a man and woman”. And, quoth Zero, “I’m not somebody who promotes same-sex marriage, but I do believe in civil unions.”
Obviously, Zero should be fired as CEO of the United States of America.

That’s at work. Critical difference. There’s no evidence this CEO mentioned his opinion at work, or that it in any way influenced his management of his employees, many of whom were gay. It was a privately held opinion that even his colleagues knew nothing of for over a decade.
If he had talked about it at work, that would be different, as it could have made for a difficult work environment by current standards. But he didn’t.
Pinklisted in a political purge.
And American Pravda cheers.

Wow, I see what you mean about Opera. On a whim last night I followed another posters link and installed Opera. It looks like something my dad would have liked - stripped of everything except the absolute bare essentials.
Naturally the fist thing I want to do is import my extensive list of bookmarks. No joy. They have an import feature but it’s grayed out. I do a web search and discover that it is only for importing from an earlier version of Opera. The proposition of manually adding hundreds of bookmarks is more than daunting - it’s a showstopper.
The next thing is website passwords. It’s been so long since I logged into FreeRepublic that I couldn’t recall my password! Firefox is easy because I can look it up. I’m sure that I can export all of them but again, what a PITA.
Outside of that it seems straightforward enough.
Maybe next I’ll try Safari ;’)
