Redneck Road Rage / Instant Karma [video]
YouTube.com ^ | 3-26-2014 | Florida Driver

Posted on 03/28/2014 7:22:34 AM PDT by servo1969

This happened to me on SR 41 in Tampa on Monday March 24th. This pathetic excuse for a human being tailgated me for about three minutes. After about a minute, and me shaking my head, I pulled out my phone and started recording. I couldn't move over because there were trucks in the right lane, and I sure as heck wasn't going to speed on a rainy day with the roads being as slick as they were. I was turning left in about a half-mile when this happened. Now bear in mind, that this guy had already passed a truck in a left turn lane, was tailgating and driving recklessly on a wet slick road, wasn't paying attention, and all in all being an ignorant ass. Not once was I mouthing off, I never brake checked him, and in fact until I watched the video after the accident I didn't even know he shot a bird at me because I wasn't looking at him at all, I was paying attention to the road while holding the phone up with my right hand. I've recorded circumstances like this before, catching idiots doing stupid things, but never ever had this happen.

He initially fled the scene of the accident, but thanks to this video he has been caught and charged. Massive props to the Sheriffs Department and most especially the Highway Patrol who responded to the scene. This moron could have easily killed somebody with his moronic behavior, and my laughing at the end would have been replaced with tears. Needless to say though, I've never seen Karma come back so fast.

*****EDITED TO ADD******

WOW! I go to work and come back to over 600,000 views and find it's on theblaze.com and various other media sites. I'm flabbergasted! (love for an excuse to use that word). I'm also a little saddened and shocked at some of the comments. After the umpteenth death threat and billionth time being called a b!#$h/c$%t/whore/slut/add whatever epithet you want... I am extremely amazed at how rude people are.

Apparently people seem to think that they were right there and know exactly what was going on. You weren't there. You don't know what happened other than the truth that I told. And apparently I did get a comment of someone who he had done this same thing to... thank you for that.

I appreciate the comments of those that, even if they disagreed with me, they didn't resort to bullyish behavior, they stated their response and I respect that. To those that wished death upon me, I truly hope your life isn't as miserable as you portray online. Because some of those comments belong to people that belong in a psycho ward, or at the very least, anger management/therapy. They were rude, uncalled for, and just downright mean.

So because of those hateful warmongers, I have disabled all commenting on this video. Have fun talking about me in your forums, and on Reddit, or wherever else you talk smack on. Just know... I won't be there. I think my ears are itching... somebody must be talking about me. Where's my Q-Tip?

Goodbye and have an awesome and amazing rest of your day. I'm gonna go pet my dog, feed my fish, watch some TV, and sit my "fat" self on my sofa ;)

According to one reply in the comments section: “Her name is Tracy Lynn Sloan. It’s reported in the St Pete Times that she has done this type of “filming” of bad drivers before.”

You keep saying that he was doing the speed limit, well the police didn’t want him doing the speed limit in the fast lane because he was disrupting traffic flow and causing dangerous conditions by going slower than the fast lane traffic flow at that time.

The cop got behind him and kept signaling for him to move to a slower lane to stop blocking traffic, and eventually had to flash his lights to get him to comply, then the cop who was only doing 5 or 10 miles over the speed limit himself, moved to the middle lane to free up the mass of cars which was flowing at a higher rate of speed than him.

Look at this cop comment in post 171:
“”A simple rule of thumb is that if you are being passed on the right, you are in the wrong lane (regardless of what the speed limit may be). One should only use the passing lane for passing - not for cruising. This used to be ‘common sense’ and was taught as part of driver education, but it has seemingly disappeared right along with common decency.
The Germans certainly have figured it out, so it is puzzling why American drivers cannot. Perhaps it is just a sign of the continual ‘dumbing down’ of our society.””

I wonder if she stopped after the accident to give witness testimony ot the authorities and “render assistance” or if she fled the scene.

And I agree that’s it’s another case of butthead meets butthead.

If you read her comments at the link, at least they were there yesterday, she claimed she took the video to the police. Who knows but her and the police and the idiot in the truck. No, I'm guessing she didn't stop to render assistance. You are right, butthead butting heads with butthead. No winners there.

Turning the video over to the police is not the same as fleeing the scene and not calling for help.

At least in my city you are to remain at the scene of the accident.

What happened was as he went to pass her and change lanes she speeds up and catches his bumper causing the truck to loose traction and skid out of control.

There was no contact between vehicles, just him skidding out of control. Had there been contact prior to the skid, you'd have heard it, and she'd have been bitching about it. As it is, there's no crashing noise until after you hear him lose traction. Whether or not she sped up is irrelevant, as there was no contact made, and he was already speeding up himself. They are both jerks, but only the driver of the pickup can be cited for the crash. He's the one who was controlling his vehicle, but not his temper.

After reviewing the video again, and seeing further comments here about her claiming to speed up as he tried to pass her, I think she should be cited for impeding traffic, inattentive driving (while filming), and reckless driving on her own, but she still didn't contact his vehicle, and it was his acceleration and desire to cut her off that led to the crash.

I'd still cite her with reckless driving and failure to stop and render aid.

I loathe cellphone drivers, especially those who drop their speed by 5 MPH and float in the lane from edge to edge every bit as bad as an intoxicated driver.

Not a bright move to go on tv. Not that the video itself was any brighter an idea. A good lawyer for the driver of the truck may very well have her paying. If not that, then certainly legal fees that can drain her financially as a defendant which could make her think twice about how much fun it is to be such a pain in the arse for others.

Gotta say that I would be a little ticked if I were a driver behind another car whose driver was videotaping me. Genius, she isn’t.

Yea, she caused the guy to tailgate. She made the guy drive along side her and flip her off. She made the guy spin out and wreck his truck.

Actually, in a real sense she did. But some people are easily manipulated, as was this guy. I simply pass drivers like her on the shoulder and move on. Only when it is safe, of course.

In her short video, there is a truck to her right, and she also states she’s going to be turning left.

There were actually two trucks to her left - at the beginning of the video. But she passed them. And when the truck tried to pass her she sped up and tried to cut him off. Look at the car in front of her in the right lane early in the video. Look how close it is when the truck passes. She sped up and tried to cut him off. He floored it and turned - a bad thing to do in a tail light pickup.

This was a case of road rage on the part of both drivers. She should be ticketed for reckless driving and/or racing.

BTW, she admitted she sped up “because the speed limit increased.” That is as big a lie as her statement that she was going to make a left turn in half a mile.

I was a passenger in my brother’s car on I-405 going through Renton, WA, westbound over 167 and noticed a bunch of cars backing up behind us. Yes, we were blocking the passing lane.

And my brother was on the phone.

Finally I said, “Bufford (not his real name), you’re blocking the passing lane.” He completely ignored me, so I told him again that he needed to get into the right lane. He finally turned to me and, irritated, said, “joe (not my real name), I’m on the phone!”

I said, “Exactly, you’r blocking traffic. Pull the he** out of the passing lane!”

Only if you redefine the verb ‘to cause’ can you claim she caused the accident. I get what you’re saying, but I don’t agree.

Nope. Your wrong. She caused the wreck. The video clearly
shows it if you look close enough. Need some Windex? She
sped up when he tried to pass her and he flipped her off
for it.

<><><>

So we have another person choosing to redefine the verb ‘to cause’.

He is driving next to her. Flips her off. Accelerates beyond what the road conditions can support. Swerves. Spins out. Crashes. Had he chosen to flip her off and then just move on, no crash. He caused his own wreck.

Clearly any normal person can see it.

She caused the accident in that she played the guy like a fiddle. We are all responsible for our own actions, but even in murder cases there is such a thing as “mitigating circumstances”. What this guy did was beyond stupid. Seriously.

And she hooked herself a live one.

But that kind of fishing is repugnant to me. Driving in a way to entice people to do dangerous stuff is disgusting. It is akin to the woman bent on divorcing her otherwise passive husband trying to entice him to hit her so she can get that 911 call entered into evidence.

And women do pretty much know how to play men, even on the road.

You are assuming this to be the case,

What led her to start taking video? We don’t know what the jackass did to lead her to beginning the video.

You are right, actions have consequences and we are ourselves responsible for our actions. You have made an excellent case now for the guy being solely responsible for the crash. His actions had the consequence of causing him to lose control of his vehicle and crash.

Had he chosen differently, we’d be talking about something and somebody else.

She admits to taking other videos of cars that do what he did, sans the accident. Her driving style during the entire video supports my position that she was goading him on. Her attitude during and afer the event. Her lies about speeding up while he is trying to pass her because the limit increased and the weather and her left turn.

The evidence is overwhelming. If I was a police officer I would ticket her for reckless driving and if I was a judge I’d find her guilty - in both cases based solely on the video evidence - but her testimony would strengthen the case against her.

Here is some good instruction on how to actually drive on a road like that. This woman could take some very useful instruction:

http://www.slowertraffickeepright.com/

There is actually very good instruction for all drivers there. It should be part of high school drivers education.

Thank you. For me there are two stories here. The first is his actions, which I think we all agree on. The second is hers. And I believe I said in a previous post, she is the equivalent of the little sister in the back seat on a long trip goading her big brother on and on and when he finally reacts, she whines to mom and the big brother gets slapped.

See, the big brother is fully responsible for what he did, but still... :-P

BTW, We did a LOT of long distance trips when my little sister and brother and I were in grade school. My sister DID, in fact, play my brother and he did get in trouble a lot. I learned early on that it was not worth it, though I had ways to make it cost her without me being the one getting in trouble. It’s why she stopped doing it to me very early on.

Drivers like this woman don’t get to me. I simply pass and ignore. Heck, I did it this morning. A lady stopped at a stop sign (we are in a rural area where you can see a long ways down the road), and just sat there, no turn signal or anything. It is an intersection where most people don’t even stop, but may slow down a bit.

Anyway, as I approached (I was several hundred yards back) she just sat there so I simply went around her, turned left without slowing down and continued on my way. Interestingly, as soon as I passed her she did turn left and went the same direction I was going. But By the time we took a couple of twisties, she was long gone.

They are pylons to me.
