Redneck Road Rage / Instant Karma
YouTube.com ^ | 3-26-2014 | Florida Driver

Posted on 03/28/2014 7:22:34 AM PDT by servo1969

This happened to me on SR 41 in Tampa on Monday March 24th. This pathetic excuse for a human being tailgated me for about three minutes. After about a minute, and me shaking my head, I pulled out my phone and started recording. I couldn't move over because there were trucks in the right lane, and I sure as heck wasn't going to speed on a rainy day with the roads being as slick as they were. I was turning left in about a half-mile when this happened. Now bear in mind, that this guy had already passed a truck in a left turn lane, was tailgating and driving recklessly on a wet slick road, wasn't paying attention, and all in all being an ignorant ass. Not once was I mouthing off, I never brake checked him, and in fact until I watched the video after the accident I didn't even know he shot a bird at me because I wasn't looking at him at all, I was paying attention to the road while holding the phone up with my right hand. I've recorded circumstances like this before, catching idiots doing stupid things, but never ever had this happen.

He initially fled the scene of the accident, but thanks to this video he has been caught and charged. Massive props to the Sheriffs Department and most especially the Highway Patrol who responded to the scene. This moron could have easily killed somebody with his moronic behavior, and my laughing at the end would have been replaced with tears. Needless to say though, I've never seen Karma come back so fast.

*****EDITED TO ADD******

WOW! I go to work and come back to over 600,000 views and find it's on theblaze.com and various other media sites. I'm flabbergasted! (love for an excuse to use that word). I'm also a little saddened and shocked at some of the comments. After the umpteenth death threat and billionth time being called a b!#$h/c$%t/whore/slut/add whatever epithet you want... I am extremely amazed at how rude people are.

Apparently people seem to think that they were right there and know exactly what was going on. You weren't there. You don't know what happened other than the truth that I told. And apparently I did get a comment of someone who he had done this same thing to... thank you for that.

I appreciate the comments of those that, even if they disagreed with me, they didn't resort to bullyish behavior, they stated their response and I respect that. To those that wished death upon me, I truly hope your life isn't as miserable as you portray online. Because some of those comments belong to people that belong in a psycho ward, or at the very least, anger management/therapy. They were rude, uncalled for, and just downright mean.

So because of those hateful warmongers, I have disabled all commenting on this video. Have fun talking about me in your forums, and on Reddit, or wherever else you talk smack on. Just know... I won't be there. I think my ears are itching... somebody must be talking about me. Where's my Q-Tip?

Goodbye and have an awesome and amazing rest of your day. I'm gonna go pet my dog, feed my fish, watch some TV, and sit my "fat" self on my sofa ;)

Because I know how to drive?

Because I am not going to whine about people going to slow or in my way?

Learn to drive like a man.

The reasons are obvious, you’ve made the point numerous times.

You are a troll.

I’ve never felt the need to record other people driving yet she states she has done it numerous times. Why? Is she a magnet for angry drivers?

It takes a very strange and inadequate personality to do what those people do, to be able to film a pay-off, is like a dream come true for them.

Looked to be a fair amount faster, but nonetheless.

Since you only get one view of her speedometer, it's impossible to say whether she sped up when she finally passed the flatbed. To me it looked like the speed differential was only a few mph.

Why should she have to slow down for some guy to be able to break the law by speeding?

From what I've seen, the speedometer read 50 when she showed it, and another poster have said the speed limit there is 55.

Sounds like the Democrat philosophy of driving — you have to make the sacrifice to enable me to act lawlessly to get what I want.

What sacrifice? Moving over to avoid a potentially deadly situation?

SHE'S the one acting like a democRat, trying to impose her ideas and methods on other people. She's not a cop, it isn't her job to police the roadways by operating a rolling roadblock. She's a typical liberal do-gooder.

Yeah, he is. I see dillweeds like that all the time. Usually you have to creep up in the right lane to pass them, because if you look as if you're going to pass, they speed up to block you. When the time is right, I spool up the turbo and don't give them an opportunity to block.

For all the left lane campers out there, here's a really simple logic tree for you to follow:

If there is no one in front of you, and if there is someone behind you, MOVE TO THE RIGHT. It's as simple as that.

“why the hell not get out of his way?”

Uh because she was passing trucks that were in the right lane

“You said you didn’t brake check him but you were going 50”

It was raining, speed limits are set for good road conditions.

when people come up on you like that, it means move over to the slow lane

Only if A.) They have their 4 way (hazard) flashers on, or B.) If it's an emergency vehicle with their lights and or siren on

I learned as a student driver “Always yield to the road bully”

And I learned as a student driver that you adjust your speed according to the road conditions, and that you yield to emergency vehicles responding to a call, or a vehicle that has it's hazard lights flashing. As far as “road bully's” you stay calm, and move over if and when safe to do so

I am surprised you didn’t get charged

Snarky comment withheld

It was hard to tell if it was 50 or 60 mph on the speedometer.

“Moving over to avoid a potentially deadly situation?”

I’m not sure what the “ deadly situation” was.

To my mind the speeding tailgater is always wrong and they may not get the courtesy a speeding, but non-tailgating driver may get.

If she was going under the speed limit, that is 100% different story and she should not drive in the fast lane.

The video was about two minutes and he was able to pass, she turned off in less than that. He was a hot head and his actions in flipping her off, which showed he wasn’t really in a hurry, and then losing control of his car illustrate it.

I find it hard to believe anyone would see anything of merit in what that guy did.

He can’t even control his own car. He’s got no business trying to speed.

This is a crazy thread.

I am amazed there are so many bad driving psychopaths here who identify with the pansy driver who can’t even control his own car.

On cop threads, road rage is one of the worst problems we get from the lane blockers, the cops despise them.

When asked why more of those guys aren’t busted, here are a few of the cop answers.

“”Because they move out of OUR way in a hurry. In order to write ‘em, you have to catch ‘em. Most people tend to obey the laws when there’s a patrol car around...especially when they’re behind you.””

“”Because I don’t work in every jurisdiction in the country.....””

“”A simple rule of thumb is that if you are being passed on the right, you are in the wrong lane (regardless of what the speed limit may be). One should only use the passing lane for passing - not for cruising. This used to be ‘common sense’ and was taught as part of driver education, but it has seemingly disappeared right along with common decency.
The Germans certainly have figured it out, so it is puzzling why American drivers cannot. Perhaps it is just a sign of the continual ‘dumbing down’ of our society.””

“”This applies here, in day light and night time. People wont budge. I’ve recently started stopping for it and everyone and I mean everyone I stop, seems to have no idea the differences in the lanes. Even after explaining it, some still dont understand. Our driving laws and licensing laws absolutely suck. We do need to be more like the German way of doing things.””

“”Recently, I was traveling south at about 75 mph when I came upon a guy in the far left lane doing about 70. Speed limit is 70. There’s 3 lanes. I stayed on the guy’s a-ss for about 2 miles. I flashed him twice, nothing. I didn’t want to haul balls, but he was starting to get all kinds of cars backing up. He had 2 lanes available to his right. Normally, I’ll keep it at 78-80 to keep the flow going. This guy wouldn’t move. Finally, I turned my lights on, he began to pull over to the left, I motioned -—> and he got the hint, started moving over, got into the ‘slow’ lane, I turned my lights off, got into the middle lane and continued about my business. I think the guy was perplexed as WTF just happened. So, from there on out, I continued the 22 miles south until I hit the county line, and you think anyone even dared to get into the left lane? It was awesome. I can’t imagine what everyone behind me were thinking.””

“”I lived in Germany for two years and have been back twice to visit when on vacation. They definitely have superior driving skills when compared to Americans. The Germans have perfected the “keep right except to pass” way of driving and EVERYONE uses their directional signals. Passing on the right is verboten (prohibited), but is not necessary because nobody hogs the passing lane.””

I’m not sure what the “ deadly situation” was.

Then you must not have watched the video.

I find it hard to believe anyone would see anything of merit in what that guy did.

If you read my first post on this thread, you will see that I said both of them are assholes. I'm not defending either of them, I am saying both of them contributed to what happened. One paid the price, the other got off scot-free.

OK, lunch is over, no more food for you.

<><><><

How did the lane blocker contribute to the guy in the truck accelerating and swerving in front of her? That is what caused him to wreck.

None of what happened before contributed to the accident, only the acceleration and swerving on wet roads did that.

Agreed. Both drivers idiots. She was pacing the truck on the right for too long. See that every day going home. If someone comes up behind me while I’m passing someone, I speed up a couple of mph to clear the lane. Too many left lane hogs who want to impede those of us who want to do the speed limit (I live an hour from my office, the whole trip on a 75mph highway). I’ve heard drivers on our local talk radio station state that they block traffic because the limit should be 65. The road in this video didn’t appear to be that slick, the idiot in the truck swerved sharply to make a point. It didn’t appear to be raining hard enough to create a hydroplane hazard.
