Here’s my prediction for the plot. Global warming has caused the ocean temperatures to rise so dramatically that Godzilla has been forced to come ashore. Most of Godzilla’s destruction will be aimed at evil oil companies for the noxious fumes that are polluting the environment.

I enjoyed the Emmerich take, without thinking it was especially outstanding. I think the new one looks very promising.
Where Godzilla is concerned, I’m just glad that I was finally able to see “Gojira” in its original form by way of DVD.

Stack up to the original?! This is as frustrating as people talking about remakes of “Robocop” or “Clash of the Titans” stacking up to the originals. The originals sucked.
