Americans have been conditioned to passively accept a steady erosion of their personal liberty. The federal behemoth runs roughshod over them everyday and demands ever increasing compliance with an avalanche of new rules, taxes, regulations, intimidation and now personal surveillance on a level never before imagined. Most Americans are content to allow this creeping incursion of authority.
As far as resistance is concerned, its nearly impossible to get Americans off their couch to even attend a Tea Party rally. The Founding Fathers would be ashamed of us.

In the beginning, the “shock and awe” isolated SWAT raids will succeed in taking down their opponents- conservatives, Christians veterans etc.
But there will be a tipping point that will force resistors groups underground, and then the resistance will counterattack asymmetrically using techniques that would likely be very effective. Just think of the number of firearms owned by the public, the number of highly trained veterans (snipers and explosives experts). The government tyrants and their families will not be safe in most areas of this country. Think also of the nerdy hackers that will take down computer, electrical and weapons systems.

The way I see it is, if we lose our 2nd Amendment rights we will lose our 1st Amendment freedom of speech, our right to Vote and all we value in life.
If we lose all of our freedoms without a fight, then I must ask; why did we keep and bear arms in the first place?

The moment that tanks and jet fighters attack US civilians, it'll be broadcast across the planet in realtime, and at that instant the United States isn't the United States anymore. It'll be the end of full faith and credit and respect in anything and everything related to the United States of America by both our allies and enemies. It'll set chaos in motion to the point that the government will have it's hands so full of problems that they'll almost immediately seek to undo what they unraveled in the first place.
To start: the Oligarchs who declare what the US dollar is worth just because they say what the US dollar is worth won't be able to control that anymore. Not when everywhere in America looks like Waco.
Besides, there won't be a shooting campaign if 'Civil War II' were ever to happen here. It'd be a constant bombing campaign like the Baader-Meinhof/Rote Armee Faktion gang of 1970s Europe magnified times 100,000 and far more effective. Every town in America will have it's own seething IRA gang. Every government entity down to the very last US Postal Service mailbox would be regarded as an enemy target.
Sooner rather than later, the homes of the families and friends of law enforcement and soldiers would be identified. Hit lists would spring up on Twitter and Google Maps. Soldiers would have a choice between bivouacing indefinitely near power stations and bridges and airports to prop up the rotten government who's simultaneously ordering the mass murder of US citizens or going home to their own families. The Highway Patrol wouldn't dare venture out onto highways. The kids in the National Guard would say "I didn't sign up for this crap."
Almost immediately, the world would see how weak and ineffective the domestic power of the US government is. All they'd be holding is a bunch of useless laws written on worthless paper in their hands next to ever-increasingly worthless piles of paper treasury notes. By comparison, Mexico would look like a stable country. Canada might become an instant super power overnight.
This nation -- particularly the urban metro liberals -- couldn't endure thirty days without power and water and groceries and Venti lattes and CVS Pharmacy and Costco and Whole Foods and cigarettes and liquor and Netflix and having to go to a natural running stream to refill their bong water.

They can come to our homes but we won’t be there...we’ll be at THEIR homes.
However, of those 90 million there is a significant proportion of military veterans quite accustomed to employing the sort of operations that now will be pointed at them and not overly inclined to sit back and take it. It simply isn't the case that the heart of a tiger present in active duty personnel is removed when one receives one's DD214. Troops prosecuting these operations will be facing their older, more experienced, and nearly as well-armed counterparts. Naturally they will not possess the advantages of artillery, armor, or air that the police state will. They'd be fools to engage them on those grounds, and they're not fools.
Frankly I don't see a lot of difference between the chest-pounding nonsense certain keyboard patriots are fond of and the chest-pounding "you'll all bow down" nonsense the author is propounding. There's a real world out here, and it can be a very unpleasant place.
